I mean, I'd love a dual wield option for mag (just for some variety and different gearing/playstyle options), and a wand or focus or somesuch just seems like it would be more "magicky" than two swords would be.
I would like to have my magic users be able to hold a staff in one hand and a shield with the other. Sometimes we can be a bit squishy and a shield would help.
I voted yes even though I only play stamina. Just so we can stop hearing magicka users whine about how stamina has more weapons. Maybe then we can finally get some fairness with equal number of stamina and magicka class skill morphs.

I honestly assumed this was already the case when I first started playing. Had hopes to do spellsword again. But with the additional weapon slot we can swap to it wasn't that big a deal to run a staff slot and a sword slot
I want some other type of 'Magicka' weapon, don't care WHAT it is! One of the main reasons I cannot stand playing a Magicka character is the complete lack of variety. Sure you can use different skills... you can use different skills that SUCK or, you can use the skills that are actually hard-hitting ones. So, you're basically stuck using the same skills that everyone else does, over and over and over again. For those of us who are solo quest types, this gets old very quickly. Hence the reason I main Stamina builds... at least there you have a variety of weapon types to use along with some class utility skills thrown in.
My Magicka Warden... same three skills over and over and over again... same with Magicka Sorc, Magicka Templar, etc. Adding in any type of Magicka weapon would be very helpful. Even using dual swords results in major resource problems- as you cannot regen from heavy attacks nor do you benefit from resource return as you do with 'killing enemies' using Destruction staff skills.
While ZOS 'tries' to make things different between the Staves, the problem is they are still Staves using the exact same skills. No matter how you may try to flavor it differently, it's still the same darn skill! It would be one thing if each staff had its own skill line, that would add variety, but they don't. So yeah, I'm all for adding ANY new Magicka weapon regardless of what it is.
