The only issue with CP is that it makes it harder for new players to get Into the game and be viable in comparison to people at the cap.

But thats progression though, or other wise its just another 'call of pooy'. As it is, its relatively easy to get your cp lvl'd these days.

Well let's compare CoD PvP with eso PvP and then you tell me which one is both healthier and more competitive. I understand the nature of MMOs but easy access of play undoubtedly contributes to maintaining PVP population. If I had my way I'd leave character progression to PvE entirely but I am sure there is a way to better balance the 2

Ok cod has a 4 hour campaign and pvp are 8 or so tiny maps with only 10 people playing. That sort of match up/design is easy to seem healthy. And for the casual player that can play 15-30 minutes... Yeah ok.
Eso tired to copy guild wars 2 world vs world. Extremely large maps with potentially 500 per side. Along with a campaign which is 40+ hours (which rivals most single player rpgs).
They are rewarding players who plays the game, does maelstrom, does the content. Rather than the "2 month" casual who complains that "cp is to hard to get, when cp only helps not wins fights.

Pvp needs a more level playing field, correct either go "no cp" or "cp" lock accounts to stop campaign/faction swapping. Introduce a "tournament" style system they so server progress on weekly performance rather than the stale buff campaign/ faction swapping monthly we have now

Skill ceiling isn't really high, games not incredibly difficult as long as you aren't a button masher.

Don't worry, one day CP will reach some ridiculous number and they will be forced to change a key aspect of it. IMO it should be capped at 300 and the bonuses you get at 75, 120 points etc should be scaled down.

CoD franchise also *** on ESO for sales and is a professional Esport with million dollar tournaments. Don't get me wrong, obviously I love ESO PvP, hence I am here concerned for it's well being. The issue with ESO is there is no regard for competitive play, and I'm not saying it needs to hit ESL, I just mean that it needs to be promoting players to fight other players of their skill level.

The current function of No CP campaigns actually does the opposite. No CP should be locked exclusively to players who have not yet hit the cap. The idea of No CP and non vet campaigns is for new players to be able to fight other new players and have a skill gap that is relative to them. Instead you have 4 year vets and guilds who want to call themselves the best in there farming people fresh out of a tutorial.

So no, CP campaigns aren't about having a crutch, they're about trying to find fights more relative to you whether or not CP are balanced isn't really relevant to this and note that I am not denying there are some things broken with CP but if ESO were doing a better job growing their PVP they'd just....fix them. Sure Non capped and non vet players can come into the other campaigns but at least then it's their choice. I would love for this game to implement some system or mechanic that would promote the more confident guilds to converge in areas that were more high risk high reward or something that would give incentive to seek out other higher tier players and groups. but, it doesn't so right now it's up to us to seek them out ourselves.
