Lmfao, whose horrible idea was this? I like the look of the actual armor part, but I’ve never been able to get over the fact that the character is running around literally barefoot for no good reason. Who is this supposed to be for? If you’re playing a Bosmer or going for an otherwise more wild/natural look, why wouldn’t you go with the leather/cloth options? Intricately designed metal doesn’t fit that theme. Who would design something like this? What is the idea behind a primitive creature being intelligent enough to refine metals for protection, but stupid enough to leave the entire foot exposed so you’re just carrying extra weight for absolutely no reason? I just don’t get it.

Primal Style is what Goblins wear.

And as we all know, Goblins have scaly feet with clawed toes. This means that they design their armour to accommodate their disgusting Goblin feet, hence the bare soles in the armour style.

The funniest thing here is that the sabatons give exactly the same amount of protection as the greaves. Look at the armor values, they're the same!

Wait, is that really true? Huh. Never even noticed the Goblins were wearing it.

Style match well also with Oblivion /Skyrim.
Khajiit and Argonain also go with an sandal look because of toe claws but have far better protection on rest of foot.

Yup, Broken Branch Toothmaul, my "goblin" girl initially only wore primal for that reason, but the foot thing is kinda silly.

No longer an issue, since she totally fell in love with the Hallowjack look.

Another thought: if you go through the goblin lairs, they all seem to have forges and anvils, but I've not (yet) seen any clothier or woodworker stations. And aren't they related (distantly) to Orsimer?

I think they should wear more heavy armor, and it should be much cooler.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Well I suppose I could believe Goblins designing something so idiotic, considering 99% of them are dumber than a sack of bricks.

Still, looks terrible on most player characters. Doesn’t help that the feet in this game look half-finished, as if the developers started working on them after the hands and just decided it was too much work for too little detail. Problem is, at least five motif styles feature exposed feet in some way, so I don’t get why they’d do that.

Would have to agree there are way too many open toed sandal/shoe options in this game. Not only do they look terrible, but they also don't make sense on a utilitarian level because that surely isn't optimal for combat.

    Switch them to close toed.

Broken Branch Toothmaul, first meeting Sees-All-Colors

    LuuTg7f.png?1

Not a great pic of her, but you CAN see her feet.

This is her current look (sorry, this pick doesn't show her now steel-tipped shoes), it's a mix of light and medium Hollowjack, but the staff is Skinchanger from the Festival of New Life; she's also wearing the Pumpkin Spectre mask.
