Dual Wielding Knifes

Why a pair of Madcaller's Blade of the Red Mountain cannot be dual wielded. I understand that Knife of Shadows can. After nearly 1 year playing I got my first Sharpened Knife of Shadows. I have maybe to play another 1 year before getting another one. Can a kind soul throw some light on this. Many thanks in advance

    Huh speaking of, why can’t I equip and Dual Wield Forks?
    Have a lot of Divaricated Tone Forks in my bank and that would be awesome.

    Unique items. You cannot equip two knife of shadows I don’t think. There are two versions of it.

    Yeah, as in more than one knife....just like lifes, wifes, elfs, hoofs, shelfs, etc. :|

    I've had 2 Prismatic swords equipped at the same time, where I saved them from previous alts.

    They probably didn't have the "Unique" tag on the item.

    Yeah, I know, but they are unique, since you can only get them from the Fighters Guild questline.

    I know in skyrim you couldn't equip two daedric swords at once.
