Anyone know a good mag dk build? I've been looking on YouTube and a lot of them are really different. So I'm not sure which one to use. All recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I would suggest looking at what you want to do in PVP. Do you want to run solo or in a small or large group? Do you want to zerg surf? Do you want to play the map where you are showing up at a lot of keeps to capture or defend? Do you want to make your own fights, such as by soloing resources or operating independently with a small group? Do you want to 1vX, tank, DPS, gank, bomb, or heal?

All of those answers go into making a PVP build because PVP can be pretty specialized. Your needs will change a lot as you play in different styles. Thinking about how you want to play in PVP will help you sift through the builds, and then your experience playing with the builds will help you refine it further.

A small example for myself. I play a MagDK healer in PVP. When I'm with my raid group, I'm wearing light armor support gear and using Combat Prayer to buff the group, because I get a lot of protection from the group and there are other healers using better heals like healing springs and templar heals. When I zerg surf or run with a small group, I switch from my light armor to Plague Doctor and use healing springs. This way I'm much tankier to compensate for losing the protection of my raid while still being able to stay alive to heal the group I'm with. I will also put more offensive spells on my bars, because I have to contribute more DPS.

So think about how you want to play and then look at what you need in order to play effectively that way.

In pvp I want to be able to 1vx and play solo.

Then that should really help you narrow down which builds you need to look at.

There is no one BiS mdk pvp build. The class is very balanced in that a lot of different setups work. Ask 10 MDKs for their build and you'll get 12 different answers.

I've run both heavy shacklebreaker+BSW+bloodspawn and silks of the sun+spinner+bloodspawn successfully this patch. Last patch my go to was silks+shackle+skoria. Before that it was silks+desert rose+skoria. Before that it was bloodthorn+desert rose+skoria. You get the picture. You can build it many different ways.

MDKs do require a more skillful touch to get kills. That's more important than your build...putting time into the class to learn it's nuisances.

Pretty much this, every person that has an mDK has an mDK build that suits them ideally.

The "meta" if you will is to rely on block as your primary defense and build to do it often and effectively without compromising your stam pool. Some people do this with various heavy options, some with light impregnable and sturdy traits, some have other ways of addressing this.

Then you need to address your magika sustain, Desert rose, seducer, and alteration mastery are usually the most popular options. Desert gives the most sustain in ideal situations but if you have to los a lot to stay alive you might have some downtime on the proc. Seducer is obvious, Alteration mastery is worth consideration if you need the block cost reduction, ulti cost reduction is obviously good and battle roar scales off original ulti costs. However, it's worth noting that the AM block cost reduction is applied after all other reductions, making it highly efficient in builds stacking block cost reduction. I'm not sure either seducer or AM is totally adequate for magika sustain but it could just be that I'm not the best at mDK because I know more experienced DKs that swear by one or the other.

Monster sets are basically a flex spot. Skoria land bloodspawn are no brained. Chudan works, there's other options too
