ehm, i just wondered if material gathering still is a great way of earning gold relaxingly, and also wondered about if having leveled my crafting skill to 10 will impact what resources i find, what gears are best and all that stuff ^^

You will find materials based on character level/crafting level.

If you're a max level character with no ranks in the crafting lines main skill you'll get C150/160 & L1 material nodes spawn, if you're max rank you will only get C150/160 spawns.

Raw materials are okay income but not the best. Motif pages, gold tempers and rare weapons/armours are still the best income.

Yes, Material Resources still and always will sell well. Well, Enchanting Runes are probably the least desired but will still sell. Alchemy and Raw Gear Mats sell the best. Provisioning, probably sells well, if they are ingredients used in top rank foods and drinks.

As to the Materials you find, Gear Mats (cloth, leather and metal) and Alchemy Solvents/Oils are tied to your Character and your Material Passive levels in a 50/50 split. Note, this is not your Crafting Level for the line, but your Material Passive that you invested the skill points in. So you will need at least 40 skill points to gather only top tier mats if you have a CP160 character and leveled crafting skills. Provisioning Mats just are, and have no real levels. Although your only going to get Purple Mats for Provisioning from either Hirelings or Writ Reward Containers.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

They are awesome income, probably best/reliable way to make money these days. Farm materials with your best crafting character, that way all materials you see will be max level. Then start farming. Prioritize Raw Ancestor Silk & Rubedite Ore. I tend to skip Rough Ruby Ash and runes unless they happen to be nearby aforementioned two mats. I also stop to gather popular Alchemy mats such as Columbine, Corn Flower, Lady's Smock, Mountain Flower and Nirnroot but not always.

Resource farming is a decent way to make gold, even more so if you're a newer player. But more importantly then that, resource farming is a great way to save gold. You don't need to buy mats if you can get them yourself.

You mentioned motif farming, does that include motifs that arent inside of vardenfell ^^? ofcourse, i can wait till clockwork city launches, theres some new motifs there, will they sell? and what motifs are currently the most valuable for the time?

would love if someone could describe what the progress of farming rare weapons/armors efficiently includes^^ ty to y'all

i would recommend farming every single node you come across. refining the raw mats, selling the mats + gold temps/wax/rosin, and selling the flowers you dont need in bunches of 25 for non-popular and 100 for others. If you have max alchemy you can make the popular potions yourself and sell them also for good gold if you have a surplus for your own use.

You mentioned in the OP that you wanted to farm relaxingly, I get that. I sometimes log in with the sole intention of just wandering around picking flowers. Motif and Gear farming for the most part does not fall into that category.

Motifs drop from various sources, but the original 15 (the 9 races, Daedric, Ancient Elf, Barbaric and Primal and then Imperial) drop from containers so no combat there. These also drop from mobs you kill on rare occasions. Most other Motifs requires some combat at least to a lot of combat to get, and you get them in the form of reward for a daily quest. For the Thieves Guild, you can just steal stuff for that guild.

Same with most weapons and jewelry items people want, you have to kill things somewhere to get them.

So, if you find killing mobs relaxing, then farm for gear or motifs. Otherwise, farm for mats.

I do find combat to be relaxing as long as I turn the sound of in the game and listen to some music, it probably doesn't beat picking flowers tho :) us the difference between materials and other stuff huge in terms of income, im talking in the long run, not a couple hours of thieving :)

I actually like to farm resources in a zone with valuable set pieces. That way you can also potentially sell the gear you find in any chests you come across. Or if others are attacking a world boss or a dolmen is up, you can also get that gear as well.

That does sound interesting, I don't think I would do it tho since i can't stand many of the zones with expensive gear, there's just something strange in the graphics :/
