Hey . If you mean the build in the Build Editor , that's because I am a Dunmer and have Warhorn active there . Dunmers have max stat bonuses to both Max Stamina and Max Magicka . Since this is more of a trial/end-game tanking discussion , I also considered Warhorn to be up because it should be at all times . I also have 2 Mages Guild skills there so I get more 4% more Max Magicka . When you open the link , just look under the stats , you can see the buffs I have there .

Man, what kind of theorycrafting we can do with you? Your build is amateur, you don't even have basic tanking skills slotted. Probably your tanking is the same level as the build.
EDIT: Oh, and thinking about having lightning staff on backbar just shows you are not into serious tanking content. Most places where you want to use that tank of yours I will outperform you with my MagDK DD wearing plague heavy.

- Update 23Ice Furnace: This item set now grants Spell Damage, rather than Weapon Damage for the 4 piece bonus

What are basic tanking skills you mentioned ? I am really curious now .
''lightning staff on backbar just shows you are not into serious tanking content.'' This is funny because I was Main Tanking with lightning staff on back bar when we killed Rakkhat HM on 5th platform , which is something only a few guilds have done .
You are either trolling or don't know how to read or incapable of understanding why I do what I do . I am happy to discuss about tanking if you are actually serious but otherwise stop wasting time of people . I won't even reply to your comments furthermore if I come to a conclusion that you are just trolling .

The Absorb Magicka is too valuable for a tank to remove it from a bar for any decent difficulty content.

First of all , skill's name is Absorb Magic , not Absorb Magicka . Second , you will not feel any difference if you put it away . You are just stuck with old ways . I was kinda afraid to put it away at first , then I learned how damage mitigation is calculated and how Absorb Magic is not so valuable because of diminishing returns . Same thing with block cost reduction . Just put it away , you won't feel any noticable difference . People used it for long time , including myself , because there was nothing better . Now , it is just a survival tool against Rakkhat and even in that fight , it is optional .
Defensive Posture might be viable again next patch thanks to Asylum 1h/s proccing from back bar but even then , skill itself is not so useful in any other situation .
Just calculated , if you have 100 Shadow Ward , 8 Sturdy , 1h/s passives and 3 shield-play enchants ; you have 95 block cost . Slotting Absorb Magic reduces it to 88 . 7 Stamina per block . That's what this skill provides for your resource management . Let's say you don't have those CP setups and armor traits . If you switch to 8 Infused , you get 427-392 = 35 stamina per block from Absorb Magic . Still not good enough to waste a skill slot . About the 8% damage mitigation while blocking , that is just much less than that . Just read the Damage Mitigation calculation thread to figure out the exact number . It differs depending on your build . You can find it easily by just searching on Google .

In a same way I don't need the tank to be a 50k HP sponge. Rakkhat was tanked with 30k hp long before stuffing tanks with HP became a thing. There's no content in the game which requires this amount of HP. Surely not for a pro tank like you who is tanking vMoL with destro staff.

Why are you so mad about that destro-offbar? it's great to help with offbalance uptime and increases the uptime of your frontbar-enchant. What would you suggest instead to boost group-dps?
