1) Yeah, if it caused too mucha lack of performance it would tank the concept.
2) Again, agreed
3) Sure, but I think this would add in another layer of depth into the game. Not only being aware of the 'Red', but enemies as well.
Read 1h/s passives . Almost all are related to blocking . The reason 1h/s users are tanky is because they block longer and better . There is no tankiness bonus apart from that . You just get some armor from the shield itself and that is almost nothing when you take diminishing returns into consideration .

Well, how bout sturdy trait? I can tell the significant difference while using at least a few and I am not even mentioning using entire 8 sturdy pieces.
Some of u might not remember but 2 years ago there were literally nothing like tank problem existed. People who were running tank builds could't either sustain or deal noticeable damage. Well, I guess it was casual unfriendly or something, it required skill after all.
Now? Sustain is more than enough to block for long time. Can they hit u hard tho? Well... Yup.

All things you talked about are related to armor . Sturdy is not applies to shields . And ''hitting hard'' happened after the change they made to Heavy Armor , removing Bracing and introducing Wrath . Then they made different heavy armor sets that covers the lack of damage viable again like Ravager . Introduced new sets like 7th Legion .
Things you say are about Heavy Armor and armor traits , nothing to do about 1h/s which is what the thread is all about . There is no change happened to 1h/s that make 1h/s users hit harder than before .
Stay with the topic .
Even shield sized doesn't matter for blocking. Nor can a tank intercept projectiles or gap closers intended for another target even if they travel through the tank's body.
Physics is out the window altogether.
A tank can't intercept a gap closer, but there is a armor set that lets you intercept projectiles intended for another within a certain range.

In a game where snipes and frags travel around corners, there's no player collision, destro ults go through walls, ceilings and floors, sorc pets hide inside rocks, and gap closers snare you so they land but an NPC eclipse cast *after* you cast toppling charge you will CC you.
... I'm not sure I'd pick on block as the one thing needing be physics based.
