Nerfing VMA weapons is a complete slap in the face

I can't believe they ironically brought in trait changing, yet nerf'd the biggest set of weapons people wanted to trait change

It's disgusting.

Basically, willpower/agility sets are dead considering you can't stack a backbar weapon glyph on your front bar VMA+poison.

It's just sickening that they were so disrespectful towards everyone who grinded for EVER to get these.

I can tell you one thing, there's a 90% chance the people grinding VMA didn't do it for the glyph on the weapons.
I'm a PVE roleplayer concerned about my vampires stage 4 skin tone and keep getting load screens so I came here to distract people from major issues with a rant thread about my characters cosmetic appearance.

Apparently nobody ran them in PvP. That's what this forum was saying to me the other day.

They've been buffed because now you can use a 348 damage glyph on them. Again, that's what this forum was saying.

As soon as you mention PvP here, people just like making it sound like you're QQing. Think they just like it when something get's nerfed. Because there's a big conspiracy that PvP gets Pve nerfed.

Like resource management or perma blocking. Yeh, nothing at all to do with the fact I could solo Valkyn skoria on vet as a saptank with no platforms left. Nothing to do with that at all! It's all PVP's fault!

Some things are nerfed because of PvP. I get that. Like radiant for example. Thing is, all people wanted was a range nerf. In PvP you could spam it at like 40m. People just wanted it dropped to a bit less. Wouldn't have any issue in pve. Zos nerfed damage though.

All the responses I got were from PVE players who either didn't have VMA weapons, didn't realize they had 189 passive damage, didn't know how they worked with a backbar damage glyph and front bar poison lol, or they just flat out didn't know anything about PVP and didn't realize 189 damage actually mattered.

It's really sad how they say it's a buff and really have no idea what they're talking about then get mad at you for pointing out they don't know what they are even saying.

i'm def annoyed the 189 dmg is being removed. I didn't care if poison removed my bow enchant. I only used barrage when defending a siege as it comes in handy then but the permanent 189 up dmg is nice as all get out. Removing this blows.

I 100% agree, just another terrible move.

Has anyone in here tested with different enchants to see if they can get more out of the design on the current PTS?

Edit: apologies if this does not fit the theme of the thread, but that is what the PTS is for. Testing and providing feedback. Just complaining about something and essentially saying nothing will not get the attention of anyone that matters for bringing about change.

Well if they are PvE players and they were saying it's a buff they are right.

just make poisons supress the weapon damage and the glyph, and call it a day

Hmmm... Depends in what context. In PvE this is actually a pretty big buff. In PvP... You can work around it fairly easily anyway.

Yep, I've done some testing for the weapons most used in PvP although I mostly testing PvE stuff.

I don't think people realize how huge it is to have enchants on top of the ability altering thing. In PvE, this means a pretty big DPS increase for all classes.

The Master's Bow is a HUGE thing. Infused + Weapon Damage Enchant + Poison Injection = over 750 weapon damage from 1 item with a potential 100% uptime. I'd say this is a buff.

The Maelstrom's 2H is pretty great to, since you can have both the Crit Rush DoT and either a Double Ravage Health Poison (which will also proc off the DoT from Crit Rush) with a Nirnhoned weapon or an Infused Disease Enchant. Now people might say that the Crit Rush DoT isn't a big deal, etc. etc. But in reality, it does add extra pressure. I'd say that this also is a buff.

Asylum's Destro Staves... These things are insane. So you get all 3 status effects and on top you can use an Infused Elemental Enchant or a Weapon Damage enchant or you could go with a Poison and Nirnhoned. This is worth way more than 189 spell damage.

Now obviously, some weapons aren't usable in PvP now, like for example the vMA Destro. BUT: if Elemental Blockade were used in PvP, this would be a buff (I'm starting to sound like Rich...).

I get OP's frustration about having to farm the Asylum's Destro to replace your vMA one for PvP. But that's probably the only weapon (along with the Resto staves and the vMA Bow) that isn't usable in PvP. The rest of them are and all of them got a buff.
