Alchemy – Looks at how many reagents from which you’ve completely learned all effects.
Enchanting – Looks at the total overall rune word translations you’ve completed on that character.
Provisioning – Looks at your collection of known purple and gold recipes.
Blacksmithing, Clothier, and Woodworking – Looks at your overall motif knowledge excluding Crown-exclusive motifs and the 9 base player races. It focuses on motifs that take some effort to learn – like Xivkyn, or Minotaur, or Celestial. It also looks at you overall completion of trait research.

Yeah that's what I thought but I think it might be combining everything now

I edited my post after you grabbed it for your quote...I think the motif thing is the main reason people are seeing less writs than they are used to.

Yeah that's the problem my main has every single motif in game all 14/14 pages of all in game motifs
So as they release more and more motifs, your chances will go down if you don't keep completing them.
@Ekadzati - Of course new motifs added, that are not crown exclusives, will affect drop chances )

You mistake me - does no one understand the longterm effects of rapidly aging collectible content? I mean, I don't care if players don't immediately see it, but I would expect it to be very obvious to @ZOS_GinaBruno and her gang... hence my response.

@ZOS_GinaBruno - Is this true? If so, this is officially my new "KILL THIS WITH FIRE" target. That's just... manipulative and punitive and I do not like it, nor what it points toward about ZOS thinking on things. I am actually very hopeful that you will reply to correct a misunderstanding, since punishing people for not being OCD over time is, well, just wrong.

In theory, yes. But in practice, not a single player I interact with regularly has found this to be true. Many of us have even found consistently higher drop rates of Master Writs on our crafters with fewer motifs learned.
Which doesn't necessarily mean that everyone is right and motif learning doesn't help. But it DOES mean that the rate increase is pathetically minuscule enough to have such a small effect that players can't notice it. And really, that's just as bad.

I have 9 alts doing writs daily. Only my main has every trait AND every style learnt and drop rate would appear to be less then my other alts who have zero styles learnt and are just now completing 8th and 9th trait research. One post from devs seems to be the only 'evidence' that styles affect rates.
You will notice less which each patch if don't collect new motifs. There's also a correction to you achievement points. Lastly sacifice a goat. This is the best method.

It's not true. @ZOS_GinaBruno stated previously that as they add new motifs it will actually increase your chances.
