Seriously, thank you. The utter crap I found in these crates ensures I will never be tempted to spend a single coin of my own money on buying them. In all sincerity, I truly appreciate the free lesson.

✭✭✭In general yes a few crates are not going to get you much. But I feel this comes from people that only get one or two and expect everything to drop.
Most of the time you can get everything plus more with 200$ and then the gems start really pouring in when you start to get doubles and triples of the same higher tier items.
Crown crates for the most part will always drop mainly crap potions but every few you start to get cool items.
My only issue with them is the addition of the hidden mounts that you can't buy with gems. For this reason this season I'm not spending a dollar. I have plenty of gems saved up from last season trying to get the rare hidden mounts so I'm just going to use them. Nothing snide about it; completely and 100% sincere. Had I bought any one of these crates, opening it would have been a disappointment. Buying and opening all three would have been rage-worthy. However, I didn't pay a thing for any of them, therefore I was spared the frustration and sense of waste, and have learned that these crates are not worth my money; a valuable lesson in my opinion, and one I received for free. If it takes $200 to start getting something decent, then I'm even more convinced that not buying these is the right decision. I can do a lot with $200 in the real world. Getting cool stuff for free is always a bonus. I bought crates in the past which didn't really work out........ But I got some sweet masks from these free ones which is pretty dope.
My only problem is the mementos, they are even more useless than crown poisons since you can't even turn them to gems. I can't remember the last time I used a memento for anything.....
Also, they can be in a pretty rare category of items like the DWEMERVANDIUM MIRAGE which was a huge disappointment for me when I turned around that nice shiny card.
Same with the call crow memento this time.1 -

So, I'll pitch in. Thanks for the FREE crates that's not making me buy 200 more because I'm not a drunken gambling loser, ZOS! I actually got some cool stuff, rather than the ultra rare mounts that all of these morons are expecting to get the first time, which they blame the company. Or even the first 10.
They may be using the crate promotion to garner more sales through repeat purchases, but these in particular were of NO COST. Be grateful for once.

They were free and I'm grateful for them. When I got the 5 free Dwarven Crown Crates I got the Dwarven Guar mount. People sometimes are lucky, sometimes aren't. Those free boxes weren’t a benevolent gift from Zos. It’s a tactic used to fish for the addiction prone customers. It was just an attempt to get you hooked.
I think that’s more likely the source of irritation.1
