Enlightenment Pisses Me Off

I actually suggested not to gain more cp after you reached whatever the limit is. I'm currently at 700cp or something like that and there is no reason for me to level up any time, because every time a new patch launches I'm already at cap.

We cannot use the extra cp, so why do we get it? It does not make sense to me.

Everyone told me that I was complaining for something that didn't make sense, but to be honest this system only causes way more separation between those people trying to get to cap and those way over the limit.

Exactly. Of all the things in this game that could use changes, Enlightenment is way, way down on the list. It's incredibly useful on alts.

It only boosts XP-gain for CP...so no, it doesn't help you leveling alts.

I lol every time I get enlightened as it is only half a bar for me (CP889)

However, what gets my goat is, my enlightenment starts every night at 7:04PM, by which time I have already played 2 hours and I am in the puttering around not earning exp part of the gaming session.

You do know enlightenment starts when you first hit level 50 and started gaining CP? So if you started gaining CP at 7:04pm, you will be enlightened at that time from now on.

Enlightenment is a great CP catch-up mechanic, and great for allowing casual players to keep up. But I have 970 CP. I can quit the game for 2 1/2 years, and still be above the cap when I come back. Yet every night when I log in, I am enlightened. There's just no reason for this. Why does the Enlightened state exist for people well above the cap?

Does anyone else get annoyed by this?

Rested XP existed for people in WoW after level 60. Eventually it was used when they upped the cap everyone had 1.5 levels of rested xp to use. Eventually the CP will be above what you are at and it will matter.

Problem is, I was Vet16 when the whole Champ System dropped. So I hit the ground with what, 160 CPs? I know I logged in earlier than that on that day.

Yeah, I remember when it kicked me over to 160.

I could have sworn enlightenment kicked in at a uniform time. It's exactly 10pm for me. Though, that could be a byproduct of having VR characters when the system was implemented.

Also note that the enlightenment start time does not take daylight savings time into account, i.e. in the northern hemisphere it's an hour earlier in the winter.

Also it does not really matter WHEN the enlightenment starts, since it accumulates for up to 14 days. So if you're past your "earning XP" part of your gaming session, just use the enlightenment up the next day.

Aside from the message, which can be suppressed using NoThankYou, I don't see any reason why anybody would be annoyed by this mechanic. If you don't care about the "extraneous" XP/CP, just ignore them.

Enlightenment has no effect on Exp with regards to skills. Skills are leveled with Exp. Champ Points are earned at some multiple of EXP, either 1 or 4.

Easiest test, if possible, would be a newly infected vampire, with Harven's All Experience Bars, and possibly his Improved Skill Window to cross check his XP bar, in case HAEB glitches.

The Vampire skill line gets a full share of your earned experience, regardless of slotted skills and you probably already knew all of this.

Not the post I was expecting when I saw the thread title but I agree, once we are well beyond cap it serves no purpose.

I am past 860 CP now and am still adding 1 nearly every day. When vet levels were removed and CP took over, I was about 3 short of the 501 cap. Since then I have streaked ahead of the CP cap increases and unless I stop playing, will always have more than I can ever use.

I do not need any more enlightening.

      @Danksta

Well, wouldn't you know it, I had some Enlightenment left over from the day before and I used it up killing 2 mobs lol.

But I slotted a skill I had never leveled and based on how little the bar moved I have to think that Exp is Exp and Champ Exp is calculated from that to be used for Champ Points.

I will try again tonight with enlightenment, and use a better logging tool to gain the numbers. I know in the past based on flying numbers and what not, that CXP was not for skills, but I saw the tool tip say I was going to gain Exp at a 4X rate for X amount of points when I floated my mouse on the bar. So maybe they changed it.

I will let you know once I find out for sure what is going on now. But I could not find anything that said CXP's applied to Skills, but then there is the tool tip telling me 4X Exp now that was not there before.

Thanks, I'd really like to know. I never really even thought of it before until I was leveling up some new skills once and they were just really flying by and then just suddenly came to a screeching halt. Then I had realized I had enlightenment up that had ran out during the grind session. I just assumed I had realized that something that the majority of players had already knew. Ever since I've been using enlightenment for that purpose and it seems to work wonders, but enlightenment runs out and your left with last bit of the skill that levels the slowest. So now I'm second guessing myself.
