Trap Beast, which morph is more worth

So, I'm a magicka warden, and I'm thinking of trying to use trap beast, but I like to be at range as opposed to up close. Is it worth using light weight trap or is the only morph worth using rearming trap. Like rearming trap or go home kinda thing?

    The only reason magic users slot this skill is for the Minor Force. The actual damage is not all that great. With that in mind, duration is what you are after so Rearming trap is really the only choice. If you really want to play range DPS, you kinda picked the wrong class.

    Lightweight Trap Beast is actually a DPS deficit for most players, since you need to almost perfect weave and fire abilities off GCD in order for the cast to be justified between its own damage + Minor Force's. If you aren't firing off at least 3 "spammables" and hitting 4+ weaves in the duration, you lose DPS from the cast instead of gaining. Rearming Trap is far superior, and for ranged builds you're likely better off not even running it.

    Rearming trap is usually the way to go. Minor force is worth more then the damage and since most rotations are 10-12 seconds and the other morph has a duration of 8 seconds the uptime would be rather rather bad.

    The DOT itself lasts only 6 seconds as the trap doesn't proc instantly. You can however have a 100% uptime of minor force.Haven't tested it in too much detail, but I think that is because minor force doesn't fall off when you slightly overwrite your trap.

    BIS build is for players with perfect rotation and gear.
    You don't have either.
    You will also not manage 0-100 km/h or L/km fuel use records on your car as you are not an good enough driver.
    Note that all this has an 2% error margin :)

    Because Minor Force can only be obtained from 4 sources (2 skills and 2 sets)in the game... Trap Beast, Stalwart Guard, Twilight Remedy, Medusa...and in a coordinated raid group you want as many buffs up as possible...but in 4 man pugs...its whatever...

    As to the time of trap, to the best of my knowledge it operates like this. Please correct me if I am wrong. It is a 6 second trap with a 1.5 sec time to arm. Rearming trap, simply repeats the process one time. The thing to note is the trap will sit there for a minute before it despawns (or you recast it), but once an enemy hits it, the timer starts running. This is why you will see a lot of DPS put trap on the floor well in advance of a boss spawning for the first rotation.

    So assuming you cast it where an enemy already exists, nothing happens from 0-1.5 seconds while it arms. Then from 1.5-7.5 seconds, you get the first 6 second damage and minor force buff. Then it rearms from 7.5-9.0 seconds (nothing happens), then it fires again from 9.0-15 seconds, again giving damage and minor force.

    In other words, assuming its cast in a place (like a bosses feet) where it will be instantly activated, Rearming trap is a 15 second sill. For 12 of those seconds, you will be doing damage and have the minor force buff. Assuming you cast on cooldown, you should have minor force uptime of 80%.
