How come I have 2 main quests simultaneously?

I've tested it and I can do both quests.

that can happen, usually when you dawdle.

Army of Meridia is really the zone Main Quest for Coldharbor.

Which used to be the Cap quest for all the Zone MQs where you fought the servants and underlings of Molag Bal. Army of Meridia was supposed to prepare you for the sit down you have with Molag Bal. You are supposed to use your new found influence with the leaders of the Alliances and fulfill your promise to have the Mages and Fighers join in the final battle.

It kind of still is, but you can now easily get them out of order and finish Meridia Early if you go to Coldharbor earlier than your supposed to.

But it still not a game main quest, just a zone main quest.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I was testing to see if I can progress with both, and I found out I could, and made it to Cold Harbour with one. I got the "Army of Meridia" quest right after completing the "God of Schemes" main quest. Then, with the "The Tharn Speaks" I progressed to "Hall of Torment". I can do both main quests and get rewarded from both lines.

As other say on is the coldharbor zone quest, they will merge or rather you will end the zone quest first outside of some optional ones.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

What's interesting is by not doing the old soul shriven "Main Quest" or any Fighter's or Mage's Guild quests, you can still do most of Coldharbour. You'll need to finish Fighter & Mage's Guild storylines to get the last few allies, and then advance to the chasm and beyond.

All you miss out on by skipping the main quest is a rigged fight with Molag Bal. I refuse to let any more characters die to Mannimarco, so this is quite useful. Tell the Prophet to shove his Elder Scroll somewhere uncomfortable.

You need to complete the Coldharbor zone main questline in order to trigger the last quest of the Main Quest line.

You miss out on quite a few skill points if you skip the Main Quest.

This is what I was going to say. I was working on my 11th character today, and I am STILL doing the entire main quest-line, as well as the Thieve's Guild and Dark Brotherhood, even though I can recite the dialogue in my sleep now and it's now boring to me. SO MANY SKILL POINTS. Plus, if you level up Soul Magic (via the main quest), you can get a couple of neat passives.

All of those stab-and-run quests to level up Dark Brotherhood make me want to gouge out my own eyes, but I'm still doing them ... not just for skill points, but also for that Shadow Rider passive, which is the best thing about that DLC. (It reduces the aggression radius of monsters by 50% when you're mounted, making riding around mobs super easy.)

They aren't both main quests. One is your alliance quest line (Army of Meridia), the other is your "main" quest line (The Tharn Speaks). They converge eventually.

Are you blind or did you just desperately need a reason to start a new thread? You can clearly see the fact that The Army of Meridia doesn’t count as a main quest. So why are you acting like this is some crazy conundrum that can’t easily be solved with a little deductive reasoning?

Yes, main quest gets pretty messy at the end becoming Coldharbor quest, moreover at some point you have several things to do and no quest marker, at least I had none and it took me a while to figure out. Completed once and honestly I'm not eager or interested do do that with other characters for now.

I wouldn't say I'm missing them. Since 1T, you can grab all the world's skyshards (and each DLC adds more), then all the dungeons, then each zone's main story quest, and have more skill points than you can ever use, without sitting thru the prattling of a blind old man you're just gonna sacrifice anyway.

Refilling soul gems is harder without Soul Lock, so you end up either slotting a useless skill for soul farming every so often, or passing all empties to an alt with Soul Lock. But I have thousands of filled soul gems, so it's not a problem.

Depends on what you believe the "main quest" is.

Get your soul back from Molag Bal or

Stop Molag Bal from pulling Nirn into his sphere of Oblivion with the planemeld.

They do kind of mesh together really. One effects only you [your soul], and the other effects the entire world. Both should probably be done eventually....mostly because "hero" stuff....Elder Scrolls traditions and all....

Ah you're right. I continued with both main quests and they did merge eventually. Thank you.
