✭✭✭✭✭Well, looking at the bright side, this is going to be the second time they give free crates (third time, with the one that came with Morrowind's preorder, though I don't think that can be considered free since you had to buy the expansion pack), so if they keep doing this eventually you can get enough gems to get what you want is not drop-only without buying a single crate (though it might take a few years if you want anything in the Apex category).
Obs: I know that it is easy for me to talk when nothing I really want went in a crate so far, I'm sorry, I do not want to downplay your disappointment.Edited by Abeille on September 21, 2017 4:22PMJust so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. ✭Seeing ah how these crates are littered literally with dead horses it seems apropos to kick the dead horse,
Limited time(time pressure), check
RNG droprate (gambeling), check
Free crates (feed the addiction), check
In no way do I oppose a company making money in fact money made and invested into content is a win for everyone but predatory business-marketing practices are predatory marketing practices.
The crown crates alone were terrible enough.
Then they added the even more ultra rare pieces.
Then they added "free" boxes just for logging in which to some would sound good except marketing research tells you if you give a person three boxes they are more likely to purchase a box.
The crates have some cool things but outside of that's in an exploitation of the players in my opinion.
Like I said at the top dead horse for dead horse.

Want to earn some of these creepy new crates for free? Log into the game and defeat any monster or minion every day, from Friday the 22nd until Sunday the 24th of September. Note that for the purpose of this event, each day begins at 12:00AM UTC and ends at 11:59PM UTC (that means it starts at 8:00PM the day before for those on the US East Coast).
You'll be rewarded for your efforts with one free crate for each day you participate, so don't forget to log into the game and slaughter some enemies! You'll receive the Reaper's Harvest Crown Crates you've earned (via the in-game Crown Crates menu) on Wednesday the 27th of September--the day before the new season begins. Good hunting!
