Does anybody on these forums play the game for fun?

    Probably not

It's for "dedicated players" who would never do something as childish as play the game for "fun"

I love how fast the forums roll out raw and new content. No need for crowns, nerfs or filters

Regardless of it's flaws I play eso for fun. Forums are really only for the whingers and complainers who wants things nerfed which will set off the other complainers saying they are getting nerfed to the ground

MMO forums are the equivalent of complaint departments of stores. You are more likely to find unsatisfied customers there than happy ones.

Non meta build. Don't have a dps counter. Just play what you enjoy. Life is too short trying to chase tulip manias.

Those that like the game are playing it there are a few things on the "general forum" that are interesting and some fun to read and look at. But I'd say 90 to 95 percent of it is people just bitching or they are bemoaning the doom of the game because something got changed or ZOS offers something in the crown store. problem at least in my opinion is that ZOS has allowed people to share in "general forum" their frustrations with something not working or an ability/skill that was changed instead of having those things in a separate section.

I play because I enjoy the game and what it has to offer, @auronessb16_ESO. I've spoken to many others who think the same. We occasionally vent frustration at things that don't work and, as is our wont, debate some of the highly questionable decisions made, but more often than not we have largely sensible discussions about the things we like and critique the things we don't like so much. We just choose not to use these forums to hold these discussions. The reasons for this are apparent when you look at the comments you refer to.

I ignore the vast majority of posts here where people whine, knock, pick arguments or belittle others, and I have no time for rudeness, immaturity, rampant egotism and blind selfishness.

Needless to say, take what you want from the forums, contribute what you feel you want to share and simply ignore the rest of them.

Just a quick glance over the thread titles seems like an exercise in futility. No one seems to like the classes, the skills, the weapons, the synegys, or the way the game is being run. I can find threads on people complaining about the set up/gear/skills that somebody else is using, the game being down or being maintained. People posting threads about a particular delve, trial or battleground that is unfair. New players are evil, people trying to learn are idiots, and that guy who beat you in a duel was obviously cheating. Oh, and the dev are lazy, stupid and shouldn't even have a job. Today I even found a thread where someone complained that international players didn't understand spoken English with perfection.

This is a game. It is supposed to be fun, relaxing, and entertaining. Why doesn't anyone post about how awesome that other player is, or what you learned today that will make the game more productive for you? Why doesn't someone ever post about that time that ZOS responded to their concern and explained things? There were a tons of threads about the game being down in July, but I never did see a thread about the free crown crates everyone got.

TL;DR: Where can I find the people who like this game?

do not confuse the part of playerbase which is on the forums ,and especially the cry-babies and whiners, for the whole player base :)

there are many people that are like me for example that say "screw the bugz and lagz, I love this game" :)

I have fun, and play for fun. Unfortunately my fun is destroyed a lot of the time by people who insist on sprinting through all of the story mode dungeon content, and then kick you if you want to enjoy the dialogue.

I play this game for fun. I wouldn't be playing if it wasn't fun. Who the [snip]plays a game if it's not fun?

Forums is pretty much the only way players have to give feedback / discuss features in-game. That's why you rarely see a "omg I love this game <33333333333333333333"-post, because, quite frankly, they don't add [snip]. They're completely useless in most cases.

Personally, I like this game a lot. Are there issues? Of course there are. Every MMORPG has issues - as do most any other game as well.

I mainly come here looking for hints, suggestions, hidden things I might not have found, and also to laugh at the people that don't understand how it can take more than 3 seconds to 'fix it now'.

    Good times.

I play for fun, and have been doing so since PC launch with no issues so far as content or performance is concerned. I can understand the frustration of those who do have such problems although I don't have much sympathy for those who have an instant over-reaction to changes before they've even had a chance to try them out. Most players are better off not visiting the forums or reading the patch notes!

We do enjoy to get a good complaint in before breakfast, here.

I have no problems with the classes, skills, and skills. I don't pay much attention to the gear and skills others are using. In group play, either the person is doing what they need to do, or isn't. If they are trying, and seem to care about how good they are, that is fine, whether they are successful or not.

Loading screens are long, but hopefully better in CWC. I do not have latency problems (~100ms). I do not get dropped, except infrequently (maybe 2 times per month). Sometimes, I have a problem with abilities not firing off, weapon swaps not happening, 1 second to open a chest, and stuff like that, but nothing that is going to send me here to rage.

I do not think that this game is designed for PVP, so any PVP should be entirely casual. There is little point in complaining about PVP balance in a game like this. Any PVP I do in this game is "as-is"... and because I really don't do it and don't build for it, I expect to die, and die frequently.

Group play is where this game is going, but that is really a statement for guild and personal groups, not for PUGs. People who don't have an established group to play with probably outnumber those that do, but the game and player population has the reputation for making that life a miserable hell. There are no indications that the game and player community do not deserve the negative reputation that they create. In the end, it fosters a boatload of the complaints we see in here, which reinforces the reputation.

I prefer ad-hoc groups. These are people that are at the same place, doing the same thing, at the same time. No strings. Group up or not, does not matter. Just multi-player without the hassles, each person free to go about their business when it suits them. Not a lot of forum complaining about this sort of play.

So, quietly having fun here in the corner, minding my own business. Mostly.

I play the game for fun, I also am strictly a solo quester, so I don't do PvP, and don't do 'end game', so I never have to deal with all the drama and other crap that most players complain about. So even when there are nerfs, it rarely ever seriously impacts my fun. Although I am not a fan of the new 'heavy attack online' changes, they still haven't impacted how I play the game enough to make me walk away or rage on the forums.

So OP, the answer to your question depends on what people find 'fun' in the game in the first place.

    Fun, fun, and fishing!

Questing near the coast is very time consuming, as how can my character, who is a fisherman off to see the world, pass up a fishing spot.

Oh yeah I love this game and I like to say that loud, to myself, when nobody is near, in my room. But I also like to complain and say what is bad in this game, on forums, among other people. I don't get why we should be telling ZOS that their game is perfect and We love them. They need to know what is bad, because they need to work, and work, and work on this game to make it better. We as customers shouldn't let them make bad decisions, (like for example Creation Club, yes Bethesda have muuch more money now with CC, but is it worth being hated by every customer?) so We need to criticise them every time, when we are even a little disappointed by their work and of course keep it constructive at the same time.

I enjoy the game, I play for fun. It is certainly better than TV. (Although the Ken Burns Documentary on Vietnam is must see TV right now)

Back to my point, I enjoy the game and I enjoy the forums. I love best the threads about how something that changed to result in a 1% or 4% less something now all of sudden sucks, or how an gear set that is "only" 99% as capable as the theoretical meta is useless, ignoring that the 99% set is easily farmed or crafted and does not require dozens of runs through a Vet Trial to obtain.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
