Warden is my main crafter now anyway, guess the name warden is appropriate for guarding my stuff.

Makes me sad to hear that but it's true. ZOS acknowledged that Wardens are underperforming quite a lot ( common knowledge rn) and said they had buffs planned.

Here are the DPS-related balance changes we got since then:

    - Swarm: Increased the damage of this ability and its morphs by 10%
    - Fetcher Infection (Swarm morph): Reduced this morph’s damage bonus on every other cast to 50% from 75%
    - Lotus Flower: Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs would heal on every tick of a Lightning or Restoration Staff Heavy Attack. (became useless for DPS survivability with this change)
    - Advanced Species now increases damage to all abilities by 2% per Animal Companion ability slotted. Previously, this passive only enhanced Animal Companion abilities.
    - Piercing Cold now increases damage to all Magic and Cold damage abilities instead of Physical and Frost damage abilities.

    This buffs+nerfs are apparently enough.

These changes totally boost Mag Warden the extra 10-12K DPS they lack in single target over my Magicka Sorcerer as well as the lost AoE DPS. It's too bad Wardens get even weaker in trials :unamused: I legitimately believe ZOS has no idea what to do so they're leaving Warden as is until they figure something out.

Depends which part of the game you're talking about.

In PvP, they can spam Tree Ult for good survivability and Shimmering Shield for Ult to spam said trees. Damage-wise they can use Scorch to good effect and noobies can spam Cliff Racers from behind large groups.

In endgame PvE, they are pitiful DPS and beat out by Templar for the Healer role and DK for the Tanking role. The one thing a Warden succeeds at in PvE is putting out the most heals, but this is only possible if they use their Tree Ult which they won't because Aggressive Warhorn is the Ult they would be using. Warden is simply unused in endgame PvE accept by a small handful of Support builds. For DPS they are so behind it's crazy.

It's been a while since I encountered a high CP warden in veteran modes. Most likely because the high level players shelved warden pretty fast for obvious reasons. Now I only see a few low-level wardens with their bear out, spamming lightattack in the open world and normal dungeons.

I take it you don't PvE? They're worthless there.

Terrible damage. Not good enough support. And it shows in their engame usage rate. No more than 1 warden on every trial leaderboard. 20+ of every other class.

I've been disappointed in the Warden but mostly because I was wanting something along the lines of the Wyrd witches of High Rock. I wanted lots of animal companions/summoned pets that were NOT from Dunmer lands. Instead we got a weird hybrid with a bear and a netch and some bugs. And a cliff racer. Because for some weird reason ZOS decided there needed to be some sort of Morrowind tie-in. Either it needed to be ALL Morrowind critters, which would have been kinda neat, or none. As it is, this poor marketing decision has made it to where I don't enjoy the Warden at all and it actually has nothing to do with the actual gameplay...which, as others have pointed out, is clunky at best.

    The whole class was half-assed.

They recycled a class they had scrapped in alpha. Changed some of its abilities ro have a "Morrowind theme". And then didn't play test it at all so they could bundle it in time with their "expansion".

And now that they've made their money off the class, they can just ignore fixing it.

The warden was meant to be underwhelming at introduction, due to backlash reasons. When the warden gets a buff, and it will, that's when you'll se the forums filled with pay to win posts because it's not in base game.

It's not pay to win, it is a new class, all mmos get them, if warden becomes pay to win, then all DLC dungeons and their sets like spellpowercure is pay to win.

They released a new class, it cost more than the base game, it should be equally good. Templar had it's throne for 3 years Now, DK aswell.

What's the point in releasing something underwhelming, I for one will not buy the next class zenimax release.

This. People paid good money for the warden. We want to play them at a high level, not keep them shelved. ZOS needs to take responsibility and fix all the issues with the class.

This is clearly a learn to read issue.

I created a warden because I was hoping the stamina selfheals would be better than they were. Was thoroughly underwhelmed. But at least the dps was good on stamina.

I haven't figured out how to get a magicka warden to 20k dps yet.

That doesn't explain the Maturation bug or the several Betty bugs though, which do need fixing

CWC PTS patch notes mention them fixing the betty cleanse... only 3-4 months after release.. very timely for ZOS.. though they will probaby break something totally unrelated in the process.

That kind of build can be done on any class... take a 70k templar or DK and you get the same... damage sponges.

I like the warden, it's now my main, but I'm mostly a PvP player... I hope ZOS leaves them alone because anytime they do something they end up screwing up. Would hate for them to buff the class to sorc levels and then getting a sh.t storm of complaints with them ending up totally nerfing the class into the ground.

Can't speak for the PvE side of things.. only PvE I've done with it is the undaunted grind, which I did specced as healer for quick grouping tool pops.. works fine, but PvE in this game has been nerfed into the ground, so you might aswell be asleep at the keyboard and still succeed.

Currently playing magwarden and even tho i enjoy it, I pretty much make 15k dps with decent gear. id love to see the class rival other dps classes and am pretty disheartened by the newest patch notes... quite shocked too considering how low it is compared to other dps, youd think theyd include it in a big balance patch.
