Because for some weird reason ZOS decided there needed to be some sort of Morrowind tie-in.

As it is, this poor marketing decision has made it to where I don't enjoy the Warden at all and it actually has nothing to do with the actual gameplay...which, as others have pointed out, is clunky at best.
The warden was meant to be underwhelming at introduction, due to backlash reasons. When the warden gets a buff, and it will, that's when you'll se the forums filled with pay to win posts because it's not in base game.

It's not pay to win, it is a new class, all mmos get them, if warden becomes pay to win, then all DLC dungeons and their sets like spellpowercure is pay to win.
They released a new class, it cost more than the base game, it should be equally good. Templar had it's throne for 3 years Now, DK aswell.
What's the point in releasing something underwhelming, I for one will not buy the next class zenimax release.
Every time I see a "Wardens need to be buffed" thread, I have to post this video (not my warden). Wardens don't suck. It's just since it's a new class, people haven't learned how to best play them.
That doesn't explain the Maturation bug or the several Betty bugs though, which do need fixing

The whole class was half-assed.
They recycled a class they had scrapped in alpha. Changed some of its abilities ro have a "Morrowind theme". And then didn't play test it at all so they could bundle it in time with their "expansion".
And now that they've made their money off the class, they can just ignore fixing it.
