I've been waiting for forever for this house and I looove it, the outside area is gorgeous, but sorry, can't justify spending that much real money on it. I'm super bummed about it, but I will not be buying this house :disappointed:

Imperial and Breton are very similar, the main differences are the color and scroll work (and as you mentioned Imperial is crown exclusive). You can get a very similar look using Breton furniture. I'm sure many people prefer Breton over Imperial as it can be built in game.

For those saying the furnished version isn't worth the extra 3500 crowns, the house actually contains a ton of crown only furnishings which are valued at over 20k crowns. As a friend of mine pointed out, the rugs alone in the house are worth more than the extra crowns spent buying the furnished version. This is a steal if you prefer Imperial furnishings over Breton.

I don't want it. I *have* it. Not sure I needed it, but it sure is nice. I'm yet to furnish one of the free single room abodes, so doing something with it will take some time. It does have potential.

The outdoor space does appear to be crying out for workbenches and standing stones. There's also a perfect place for a Wayshrine, but I can't buy one.

I'll get the Island one too if they bring it back.

I found it too expensive. I would consider it not more worth than maybe 7000 - 8000 crowns (at least that would've been a difficult decision for me). I believe the main building itself is a copy of the one of the Gold Coast Trading Company in Anvil, so not much originality here.

    What I like:

    i) The garden with the pond

ii) The manor with the large terrace.

    What I don't like:

    i) Generally, I don't like the Anvil-style in which so much stone is included into the surrounding walls that you could just build 30 manors out of em. Its way out of proportion.

ii) Although some towers are accessible, there is no access to the guard's walkways. I find that irritating.

iii) The stables are so small there is no room for creativity.

Overall I decided to skip this house.

The yard is a nice space for creative builds, limited only by the item cap. The view is amazing. (I can also jump down to the wall from a tower and walk out on the air.)

The interior offers more actual rooms than most other open floor plan houses, but looking at the furnished preview and comparing it to similar styles in the game, it feels a little cramped. It's more like a medium/large house than a manor.

This for me is more of an if I had an excess of crowns I would pick it up sort of house. It's a shame then that it's a limited time offer, because right now I don't have that, and I'm not going to spend the extra cash right now for it.

My wife likes elk, so I gifted one to her account and bought one for mine as well so we can ride elk together. All of this stuff is purely subjective.

Yes, I'm always amazed at how some people just "know" what *everybody* or *nobody* does or doesn't.

The key thing for me in all those real-cash purchases is that it is not something I would actually own, but only something I'd be technically allowed to use, just as long as ZOS keeps the environment (the game) running. While I don't see ESO dying any time soon, I still think it's a bit too much to pay extra (and quite a lot) for something that someone else is entitled to take away from me anytime. As a result, I only spend crowns that come with ESO+, the rest is either in gold or not at all.

Thanks for that critical information. Made it a lot more bearable to ignore this money grab or even a future smaller nibenay imperial styled house.
The way how imperials are treated in this game is complety ridiculous.

I didn't buy it, but I have topal. My friend wanted this one, but it was just 25% or so less than he wanted if he was going to spend $60-$75 on it.

I personally think any home in this price range should have one "very unique" interior decorating feature. Like the dev team should ask what they could do to make a property stand out. Something like Hakvid's crypt, which I thought was unique enough.

    Grand Lichal? Hmm. Some possibilities:

A secret entrance to a sorcerer's / necromancer's undercroft, like the Anvil house in Oblivion.

A secret entrance to a hidden gold/gem mine area.

An alley filled with dirty portapotties like at Coachella

A narrow canyon behind the home that leads to a "sacred grove" sort of set

Just some ideas. Not all as good as the others, lol.

If you run a guild and have the financial capacity to provide the very best for them, then the Linchal is perfect. The house itself is very deceiving from the outside (it's small and cramped inside) but the outdoor space is PERFECT for the 13 mundus stones, all 38 crafted sets (114 attunable tables in total), as well as ample space for training dummies. I'm just setting mine up now. Getting the placement just right is not easy for someone with OCD (and screw the designer that made the outdoor space look symmetrical when in fact it's not. Jerk).

*EDIT - I've completely bulldozed the grounds to make way for the craft tables. I'll do some very light landscaping once they're placed!

Now how many people do you see riding the Elk around?

I have a friend I regularly game with who has a character that much prefers this mount, so I would say at least that one.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I totally agree with the lack of symmetry at the house entrance, in relation to the rest of the setting. Now that someone pointed it out I can't not see it! :(

I really thought I'd be getting this house when we saw the initial previews. It's gorgeous from the outside and the yard made me swoon. :) Then I spent time on PTS trying to decorate it and it just wouldn't work out the way I envisioned. The item cap is way too limiting and too many of the trees/plants I REALLY want are crown-store only from what I can see, and I'm just not willing to spend the money on both this expensive house and the furnishings, trees and plants I really want (and in the amount I want them).

I also really don't like those weird blocks of wall/shelf/whatever you want to call those things in a couple of the rooms. I suppose you could use them as some type of shelving but to me, they make the rooms feel off center. They looked like they could be useful until I tried to actually decorate with/around them.

I'm still waiting for a house that just feels right. This was a step in the right direction with the separate rooms, at least, but it's still just not right (for me). Especially at that price. For that price, I need to fall out of my chair with enthusiasm at every aspect of it. Hasn't happened yet.

No doubt people bought it and enjoy it. I would have bought it in a heartbeat if it was priced like similar mounts. Im Canadian and I drive by a herd of Elk every day to my office. I just can't justify spending that kind of money on a vanity pet. And many people agreed it was too expensive and didn't buy it.

I was just testing out the symmetry, and I really think (obviously just from my own eye), that the reflecting pool is centered to the house. It's just that the big door to the house/courtyard is not lined up with the house. So when you enter, it looks off-center.

It really would have been nice if they could have centered the door. But the off-center door bothers me much less than if the pool was off-center. Oh well. :/

That being said, it really doesn't bother me. Which leaves me surprised, as I consider myself to be rather OCD. :D

Now, if the reflecting pool was full of the waterlilies we keep seeing in ponds on the Gold Coast... ;).

Your post actually reminded me of something! Is it just me, or do the houses with pools not so much have pools as they do large shallow puddles? Seriously. When I think of a pool, I think of something to SWIM in. While Strident Springs Demesne and Serenity Falls Estate have lovely pond/spring areas that you can sswim in, homes like Mathiisen Manor, Hunding's Palatial Hall, Linchal Grand Manor have such shallow pools.

If one of the developers (by SOME MIRACLE) reads this comment, and if Sulima's Mansion ever gets made into an actual manor, PLEASE, for the love of Akatosh, make the indoor pool deeper! >.<
