Didnt they say something of upcoming performance improvements?

Since this update my fps dropped -everywhere- by about 20-25... am i the only one experiencing this? Anything they changed?

They say this regularly. I mean, do you believe it?

Just a quick update. I used the repair option and my framerates seem to have gotten better.

The thing about MMO's is it's very hard to benchmark from moment to moment, due to the number of other players running around and doing stuff all around you.

Doing absolutely nothing at all will give me 60 FPS one minute and 45 FPS 5 minutes later.

How are you getting this game to use all the cores equally? You got a screenshot of that (use Resource Monitor or Process Explorer to show all cores while game is running). I need to see this.

    4ev1UQr.jpg

Where's the rest of your cores gone? :open_mouth:

It's a 4 core processor? As you can see from the image, all 4 cores are used equally. I am using the numjobthreads/worker requested threads=4 tweak, although that has caused crashing in the past.

is that a good idea since i now have a 6 core or rather making the game unstable?

Posted this in a different thread, but maybe it will help some of you. I had this happen last week and was able to fix it, hopefully it will apply to you guys. In my usersettings.txt file which is in \documents\elder scrolls online\live

"CachedRLREnabled" has somehow gotten set to 0 compared to my backup file which had it set to 1. After changing it back to 1 I'm getting a pretty solid 99 fps everywhere (still get drops in the normal places--trials, with a lot of people on screen etc etc). So if anyone has had a performance decrease, make sure to check out that setting.

I can confirm, on PC EU performance has dropped drastically, especially in Cyrodiil but also in much less populated overland zones. I am also getting a lot of visual bugs like flickering buff effects on my character.

Seems every patch is one step forward, two steps back

Somethings up, no real data to back it up but noticeable bar swap and just weird lag in dungeons - I.e. deaths, sudden damage etc.

I switched back the tweak to the previous "0" setting and saw no difference in the thread usage either. So I don't think that setting does a whole lot.

Interesting that your thread count is at 110 (8 core), while mine is at 57 (4 core). It looks like the game does a pretty good job of using extra cores from our data anyway. I just don't know why it doesn't max out the CPU (or GPU) usage wise. If my FPS is lower than cap, one or the other should always be trying to use more cycles.

Can confirm this as well for PC NA non-steam, most specifically in PvP situations

I have tried with addons, without addons, with no programs running on my computer except eso, nothing works

Ever since Horns of the Reach, the second i enter PvP combat, my FPS is all over the place. No lag or ping issues, all entirely FPS related. You can even see it in my streams, ill be running around doing stuff and everything is fine, then i got to fight someone and i get between 19-25 FPS.

I almost forget what its like to pvp at 50-60 fps >.>

I did that with SWTOR pretty much after every update, and it worked for that, so i figured i would give it a shot for eso =P

    yeah pc eu

the drop in fps seems not to affect dungeons but pretty much all open areas especially cities - before i was getting 70-85 now im at 50-65

Im finding the opposite tbh also pc eu

Dungeons have been awful the last couple of days but open world has been fine.

On XB1 NA, framerate in raids is about 10. No joke. That might actually be generous.

Gets to the point where casting an ulti or popping a potion takes 3-4 attempts. Good luck bar swapping.

In vMoL, we have to have everyone restart their systems after getting to the Twins, and then again when we get to Rakkhat, otherwise it's close to unplayable. It quickly degrades again after a reset, though.

First, this is amusing/annoying/infuriating because everyone was so sure that the change to friendly AoE rendering was going to boost performance significantly ... but somehow it got much worse. vHoF is unplayable on XB1 right now due to total freezes on the Triplets (no one has completed the raid since HotR).

Second, I get a good laugh out of the claim that framerates are going to improve by 20-30% next patch. That brings my 10 FPS to a whopping 12 FPS. How awesome. GG ZOS.

This happens every other patch. Somehow ZOS manages to completely destroy raids on console. And they'll leave them in this broken state until the next major patch.

Last night, we called it after barely over an hour in vMoL due to frustration over the game's performance. So half the team went and played Destiny 2.

Its because zos implemented that new visual effect limiting system. The game is now using more resources trying to figure out what not to show you instead of just rendering everything.

Game is really choppy when it first loads. After a couple of minutes it settles down and I get between 45 - 70 fps depending on where I am.

Memory stays at about 6.5 GB usage with around 25% cpu util. Runs ok for me.

Yeah, I'm really hoping and crossing my fingers that when they mentioned an upcoming performance increase of 20%-40% it will use more of our cpu/gpu. I understand that the server has to do a lot of processing on their end, but it's always annoying when I'm getting sub-par performance, and my system isn't even using more than 50-60% of it's resources.

PC NA can confirm. Hopefully that Clockwork City performance enchancing stuff they talked about will actually work because with each patch my game performs a little worse and with my frankly potato computer I can't have this happen too many more times before the game is utterly unplayable

They're probably deliberately wrecking fps each patch so that by time the "performance patch" goes online it'll basically take us back to almost as good as it used to be like three patches ago  and call it a win.

Some ppl think you're joking but this is actually kind of true.

HotR disabled prominent allied AoE effects which was meant to improve performance drastically. Instead I still overtime get pulled down to constant 5-10 FPS invHoF on console (PS4 *Pro*). Overall I feel that the game became worse performance-wise which got covered up when possible by the visual disabling of certain allied effects.

Clockwork City aka next patch is suppossed to "improve FPS by 15-20%". What I want to know is how abysmal the trials will still be..... 10 FPS x 1.2 = 12 FPS. We need a 200% performance boost, not 20%...

This - HoTR messed something up. Never had FPS issues like this till HoTR and i changed nothing from last patch to this one (again, PC NA)

The repair to my game sort of did the trick, but only for a short time.
