It is my understanding (CP104 Stam Warden) that Craglorn is group content. So why is my solo character required by the game to go there to hand in a crafting writ?
Am I missing something? Are the prior forum posts and ESO guides no longer relevant in recommending solo players stay away from there?

As LMar stated, you'll be in the city where you turn in your writ, so you won't need to do any combat to reach it.
But, also, you don't have to worry too much about Craglorn now. Before the One Tamriel update, the whole area was designed specifically as an "Adventure Zone" (or group zone). With the update, they redid a lot of stuff so that it still features a lot of group content, but the main story and basic travelling are soloable.
If you enter an area designed for a group, it will let you know. And, you'll be able to tell group activities by the plus in the corner of the icon.
Not quite. I spent some time trying to work my way through the level to get to the location (as I have done with prior writs and thieves guild stuff) required before turning to google for answers. As a result of that, I'm both here asking questions and standing in front of an NPC named Star-Gazer something, who just happens to be in another zone.
It's a legitimate question. Yours is not a legitimate answer.

This bit is confusing, i'm not sure where you are or what you are trying to do ...I spent some time trying to work my way through the level to get to the location (as I have done with prior writs and thieves guild stuff) required before turning to google for answers. Use the cart next to him for easy travel to Craglorn the first time - you are dropped off right by the wayshrine in Belkarth, once you have discovered the wayshrine you can just port to and fro in the usual way

Thanks. That's what happened in the end. Thanks to google first, helpful forum goers second. I was going crazy trying to find a way through Bangkorai to get there, and not liking some of what google was telling me.
It still grates me that my character that started in Vvardenfel had to leave the zone just for writs.

My answer does not lose legitimacy simply because you don't like what I said. You obviously don't know what "legitimate" means.

Being a condescending POS doesn't count as an answer. It's called having your head up your arse.
And wrothgar load screen boss needs major adjustment. Make me wanna log off with 2-4 load screens from bank to writ hand in.Doctordarkspawn wrote: »You basicly never walk out of the town. The only reason you need to go there is to turn in writs.
And the reason they settled on this was because the original point was in Wrothgar, and they wanted something a bit more neutral, and not DLC locked for writ turn in.

This isn't a big deal.
But it is kind of odd that you have to go to Craglorn to turn in crafting writs. Not really sure what the logic was behind that one.
