Most of these posts were funny.

I also used dolmens during double xp events, but it was barely tolerable. I just wanted one of each class to 50. I still haven't leveled a warden partly because of the grind and partly because I haven't figured out if they would fit my play style yet.

It is definitely nice getting every drop in max level just in case it is a good item, or a unique item.
FYI, waiting until Champion 160 to do the freebie undaunted key invitation quest grants you a max gear level shoulder piece. I found this out after my first character wasted it at level 45.

you don't have to wait do do the quest. just wait to use the key. those keys will keep in your inventory just fine.
    dirty worthless casual.

Joined a dolmen train in Alik'r yesterday night, after seeing this thread. Ran with it for 2 loops (6 dolmens, total). It was simply not fun, even if the XP is nice.

The purpose if a game is to have fun. So I hopped off and went away to do something more fulfilling. It does seem like a fast way to fill soulgems though, if you have a few stacks of empty ones laying around.

yeah, I don't personaly find it fun either :/ its just... not as annoying as trying to level specific skill lines and trying to remember to have the bar with them slotted active when turning in quests and/or light attacking your way through quests, becasue you are leveling healing staff or a bunch of taunts/shields.

I wish... xp applied to both bars and skills equipped on those both bars. not just the one you have active.
    dirty worthless casual.

    My idea:

When a Dolmen spawns it kills every player in a certain radius and they cannot rez until other players come and rescue them . . . . MWHAHAHA

The XP but mainly also for the drops to decon, nice easy fast way to level crafting too.
I remember once I got over 63K XP (I was enlightened) from 1 dolmen, was only 3 of us doing the dolmen as it wasn't an easy chain area. I was only passing by, was a great bonus while questing.

What I don't get, is why Spriggan's gear (Jewelry too) is still a high value sell when it is a well over farmed area. That logic I don't understand as I only need to do around 8-10 dolmens and have purple jewelry... Aaand off topic sorry :P

Ehh, I cringe every time I have to do the Fighters Guild daily in Alik'r; freaking so much lag during those army ants dolmen group is at a dolmen. At times, if you arrive at the end just as the final boss is coming out, but none of the adds or boss is showing for you, because of the lag. So, you're not able to get any shot in and get a complete. You may have more than one group too. Ha ha. Sure, there is benefit for those who just want to level up faster, but no such benefit for someone like me who prefers to level up new toons by going through and getting xp from unlocking all areas and interest sites. You get plenty of xp just going about each map area doing the skyshards hunt. Not only are you getting skillpoints but also lots of xp when you unlock the areas. Sure, it's not as fast as the dolmen group, but I have leveled many toons just fine by doing just that, and it is not as boring or tedious as continuously and repeatedly grinding from dolmen to dolmen to dolmen doing the same crap for hours on end. Same with bears group, dreugh, or Skyreach grinding. Hey, to each their own, though; whatever works for you.

Good point. I hadn't thought of that either.

I was curious if this is really a efficient way to make XP and tested it yesterday. After doing it for around one hour I came to the conclusion that it is far slower then grinding mobs in skyreach, spellscar, etc. Though it is far easier, so I guess it's a good alternative for some people. You also can get okayish loot and achivements, so it's over all worth doing if you are into mindless grinding I guess.

I bet people complaining about bosses not loading in yet as they approach are either on console or playing on an old or very low spec computer, which is what even the newest consoles are now.
Sometimes you just have to upgrade. I'm due for one as my screen blacks out far too often as every graphics card seems to do once it craps out.
