Discussion on the design of keeps

What is your opinion on the current design of the keeps in PVP?

I feel like theres so much more potential with the keeps as atm theyre just a hall with guards standing inside them and an upstairs area.
I know decoration can be frustrating when it comes to PVP as it gets in the way, but I feel like there design could be better in terms of different areas of the keep.

Im not saying there is a problem with the current keeps, but I think they could be better.

For example:
Watch towers, a dungeon, more rooms etc much like the keeps in other TES games and in ESO itself.

What is your opinion?

The Keeps are acting as simple military bases. Theres really no need for them to be more complicated than they already are.

The keepers are fine, it's the losers and weepers that are the problem.

Coming from a DAoC background, i would like far more elaborate keeps than just basically two fences around two flags.

Each keep a different, multi-storey building, with walls to climb, a raid-level NPC keep lord to defeat, yea, those were the times (grumble grumble)...

I think the keeps are serving the right purpose now, they're meant to provide a setting for players to defend, and for players to attack. PvP isn't so much about the keeps as much as its about coordinating offensive and defensive strategies (even those as simple as zergs). They provide a nice mechanic of using siege weapons both for offense and defense.

WHY DID THEY BUILD SO MANY KEEPS IN VALLEYS!?!?!?!?! Its ***, some keeps are so much much harder to defend cause the attackers have the high ground. You literally can't attack their siege engines with your own and when you try to rush them they have the advantage of high ground and can shoot down anti infantry sieges down onto you. Why are so many keeps put in such strategically STUPID locations? However of course there are some that are also built on really good locations, Alessia for example is really hard to attack from the east cause of the large hill. So many times as EP you rush up the hill and push them past the wall and then.... well the assault gets crushed cause there is no place to put up siege weapons and most zergs are not smart enough to walk around to the spots where you can. More keep locations should be like that, make it harder to attack. Keeps and fortresses were made to be defensive bases for those that build it, a place to rally and attack from, easy to defend and hard to attack. So why are some of these keeps so freakishly easy to take compared to others....

Sadly the terrain of Cyrodiil and the locations of the keeps will not be something the devs will be willing to change, however adding some diversity to the looks of the keeps and adding some extra towers and others to minimize the weaknesses of many of there locations as well as making these keeps more unique would be a great way to deal with this issue.

Keeps have watch towers already. It is what is in the corners of each keep. Not sure what functional purpose a dungeon would have other than players can use it to troll when defending to attempting/failing to capture a keep but can get inside which is probably why keep designs are strait forward.

It would be cool, if they would spend the time to enhance Cyrodiil. Fix the terrain around and make each one unique requiring different strategies to capture.

It would also be nice if guards were stronger again like in the old days to stop PvDoor.

Make it so when a castle gets a burst, that all guards roaming on the non attacking side actually come and participate in the battle and reinforce.

Add some more NPC guards manning the walls, and some stationary ballista and Trebs that take damage during a siege but can be repaired.

More Alliance patrols around the map.

There is so much they could do to make Cyrodiil better.
