I haven't heard anything along those lines, and furthermore, what would be the motivation to do so? There has been no announcement about gear levels increasing that would prompt a demand for new gear, so I just don't see it.

Based on a lot of data, and I mean millions of each mat from several players, the drop rates are almost certainly not a flat 5% across all 4. Although if you have a reliable ZoS source for the 5% we'd be interested so we can stop collating data!
But based on what we have the rates are certainly between 4% and 6% across the 4 mats and appear to have remained pretty stable over the years.

5% is the average of 4-6%...
The odds roughly equate to 1 temper per stack (aka, 5%... or 4-6% if you prefer, it doesn't make a difference)

I mean if you call 9k per "cheap". They're only cheap if you're one of those who have millions rotting away in their Bank. To the average middle and lower class player, buying just a few if not a full 8 is costly.
Interesting as prices on pc in 1000 gold equals the drop chances well.Tavore1138 wrote: »MLGProPlayer wrote: »Tavore1138 wrote: »MLGProPlayer wrote: »1. They have never nerfed gold temper drop rates (they were always 5%)

Lol, yeah I know the average of the 2 is that. I meant more, that for example, leather tends more towards the 4%, cloth and wood more towards 5% and metal a little higher at 5.5%. So yes 1 gold per stack is a decent rule of thumb.
I was just wondering if they'd ever come out and given an official number.

Gear level has never been confirmed nor denied, it would be a welcome change for me, it's been a long time since we have been rocking cp160 gear. As a 9 trait crafter it would open up the market for me.

@MLGProPlayer, I want to say they actually increased the gold temper drop rates back with 1.5 or 1.6. It went from, I think 2.5% to 5%.
