How does this happen to people?
If someone tries to put the wrong item then you can look at their exact item and check the level/trait/etc. If they try to take an item out of the trade window or change the Gold amount offered then it cancels confirmation of the trade on both sides. I just don't get how this is happening to people. You have to be careful when you trade, that's all. There is no internal bug in the system that allows people to scam you besides you yourself not being watchful during a trade....
Anyway, sorry this happened to you OP. Hopefully things get resolved.

Please note I take everything i said in my report very seriously, and intend to do what i stated if this is not resolved.
Side note, Anyone else been a victim of last second removal of item from scamming? Post it here lets get this fixed and these people removed from the game.
I hope something is done about this. A second confirmation should be in game to secure items so this doesn't happen. The fact that this isn't in game already is ridiculous to be honest. I've had a few friends this has happened to in game and the excuse of "oh you should watch what your doing better" is completely stupid. People even use third party programs that pull the item from the trade within a second. Nice to see nothing has been done about it...
I do hope you get a response from them and a favorable one at that.

I got trade scammed out of a psijic ambrosia recipe when the scammer used modded controller to remove gold and accept near simultaneously in less than a second...
Eso Is going to really have to decide between well established "PAYING" Customers and non sub non crown buying scammers.. the choice is theres and no response is just not acceptable.

and you know the scammers are non sub players how? i dont think your demand is something eso need to worry about.
id still like to see a video of this happening. im still somewhat sceptical that most if not all of these cases are user error.

Let's use the skooma bubbler design as an example.
When the design first came out the price was extremely high.
Person a is selling the design
Person b says they will purchase design through cod for high price
Person a sends the cod
Person b decides to just let it sit there
Person a finally gets the cod return with their item
Khajiit skooma bubbler design price has dropped a lot since the amount of time person held onto the cod
Person a loses out on money they could have made.

Yeah. You should ALWAYS have the person you're trading with submit first...Here's what I think is really happening (bolded)

player 1 says: you submit first. player 2 says 'no you submit first'

I had the exact same thing happen to me but lost the Mythic Aetherial Ambrosia recipe which I was had been selling on the guild store for 400,000 gold. I reported the loss and player to ZOS and as far as I know nothing happened, I definitely didn't get my recipe back. I should have just left it in the guild store but making a fast buck got the better of me.

The point is some people are deliberately going out to scam unsuspecting people. Time and time again we see it here on the forums so it is still happening.
The 2nd or finalise accept trade is a perfect way to finally stop the scammers who swap out their trade last minute.
This should be a priority.

Wait only 400k? Are you sure it wasn't just the AA one, cause MA is usually 1.5-3m depending if consoles / pc
Its been 4 days and still waiting on a reply of some sort from ZOS.. @ZOS_GinaBruno I guess you really are going to take scammers over paying customers.
