Does Bastion affect any of the Winter's Embrace tree in Warden?

There are a couple of skills that look like they may but its hard to tell.

Bastion increases the effectiveness of damage shields. The winters embrace skill line does not have any damage shields.

Winters embrace does have some good resistance buffs, and a cloak that heals you based on your own health, but it doesn't have any damage shields so bastion will not have an affect.

Bastion does affect the following skills;

Hardened Ward
Obsidian Shield
Blazing Shield
Healing Ward
Bone Shield
Annulment
Brawler

EDIT - after testing can confirm that crystallised shield is also buffed by bastion

You sure it doesn't effect Crystallized Shield? I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't but never checked myself, it does count as a type of damage shield in how it works now so kinda why I am asking.

What classes or trees are those all from? So basically none in Warden trees right?

Crystallized Shield is actually not a complete absorb . There is a limit of damage it can absorb . It should affect it but didn't test myself . Well , the limit is really high , you won't ever need to put points into Bastion to make it more powerful .

Crystallized shield reflects 3 ranged attacks, no matter how powerful they are, bastion has no use there

This is incorrect. A powerful enough attack can take out multiple shields, and it does not reflect, even the morph that shoots back an ice shard is not a reflect, it absorbs.

Yes no Warden Class skills. In the same order

1) Sorc 2) DK 3) Temp 4) Healing Staff 5) Undaunted skill 6) Light Armour 7) Two Hand Weapon

True, the damage sent back is not related to the one absorbed.
I honestly didn't know that an attack could take out more than one shield, never noticed

I honestly didn't know that an attack could take out more than one shield, never noticed

It wasn't originally the case but they changed it, can't remember if it was done during Beta or after.

Hi @paulsimonps your posts have really helped me understand parts of the game better, so I thought it would be good to double check -

@maryriv Actually Crystallised shield DEFINITELY IS affected by bastion. I don't know why I was so positive it wasn't a proper damage shield but I just tested it and it definitely is affected. Sorry for the false information.

The test was simple. I haven't played my orc stamwarden at all this patch so it has unallocated CP. I put both annulment and crystalised shield on my bar, then put 9cp into bastion for +4% shield strength.

Annulment shield increased from 3152 to 3278
and Crystallised shield increased from 20947 to 21784

(but if it is worth it is another matter since 99% of attacks will be absorbed completely and even 1dmg attack still removes the shield)

Yea, some quick light attack will make short work of it. I think lightning heavy counts too.

Oh neat thanks for testing this. I will assume both morphs are as well.
