could they be... shopping in Vivec? or Belkarth? I still see a ton of people around at pretty much any time of the day or night in certain areas.

Maybe, but still, any major cities i travel is way less populated, i can now clearly see horses poop on the street and avoid them :P Last time i went to see Vivec for dreught, there was no one farming them anymore, not even any BoT train, that's a bad sign.... Dreugh will overpopulated and invade Tamriel :SSSSS Not even annoying duels going on in Mournhold's townsqaure.... that'S bad sign :P

I feel like we live in alternate universe or something. because I see people in all these places at pretty much all hours of the day. had to skip out of vivec several times today, cause I got tired of competing with other pickpockets over the same mobs - and I tried different rooms too. this is why I like urns better - even when there's a dozen other people in the same tomb as me, we all have our own spawns and don't have to fight for them

    aaanyways.

All the zones except for cyrodil are instanced, meaning that as more (or fewer) players play, there will be more (or fewer) versions of the same zone. Therefore it's not a good idea to base the server population on how many people you see in an area, but rather the number of instances that exist for any given area. And that number would be very hard to determine.

PC-NA there are less North American people playing the world content during the day and yet more Australians now than ever on at night (my night their day). Idk why. It is hard to tell but I've been playing this game for a year now and it is in constant flux. Some times endless streams of newbies. Some times nothing but high levels. Events will bring everyone back and the forums are full of lag complaints but we have a lot of fun.

Talking about TESO's population is like talking about the ice age vs global warming. You'll swear cow farts and less forests have doomed us all then it will snow in Texas. It's just unpredictable and people come and go. And come back.

I do not see any overall decline in TESO's popularity. If anything I hear more positive reviews for TESO thru the grapevine despite it's lag and disconnect issues.

TESO is one of the last standing mmorpg's of it's genre. It fits a nitch none of the other mmo's do with it's unique art style. There will probably never be another game like this again. If it keeps chugging along into 2020+ it will inherit the next generation like WoW does.

Dunno, but we were 4 friends playing and paying ESO+ and now just one keep playing the game. After 3 months having the meta gear for pve and pvp but being impossible to join a balanced pvp and without a reward to try the hardest modes of pve, most of us prefered to leave. No motivation at all.

WoW have a really old engine. But they know how to keep the players busy. Maybe you should learn from them.

It's OK! Don't worry! The ESO population is just growing more and more casual, just like ZOS wanted! Sure, people are logging in less, but casuals never quit. They will log back in again in a month, play for a few minutes, then log back out for a few months to repeat the cycle again!

This is how ESO has such an active consistent playerbase: we consider anyone who has ever logged in to be an active player. If they haven't logged in in the last year, that's just because they're casual players, and we want more people to be like them! We love the casuals! Anything that ZOS does to encourage players to log in less frequently is seen as an accomplishment by the upper management, I'm sure.

It isn't simply what ZOS want (and their comments about that have been grossly misrepresented), rather it's what an increasing number of gamers want. There are far too many decent games around now for a lot of players to want to stick with one game continously. You can spot the ones that do, however, as they're the ones forever moaning about the lack of content and how they're sick of this and tired of that.

It wont ever happen. Seriously, stop hoping. No one, and I mean NO one from the EU server wants to play on a cowboy hamster wheel made of straw in the middle of texas. We had to do it before, and we wont do it again. Not to mention the EU servers are packed pretty much all day every day. Everywhere i go towns are full of players.
