NA PC Servers Population droping?

Is it me, or since last patches, specialy last one did population droped on NA PC server? as a saturday morning, Mournhold's downtown seems pretty empty versus a few weeks/months ago... summer is getting a bit colder, so usualy it gets more people... Did a lot of people left as lots of warnings of unahppyness from changes players warned ZoS coming true? I remember not that far away being there downtown and had lots of people and /zone chat going on... almost feels like a ghost town today morning... good thing is, i can walk around naked now and have no one whining about it to the guards. :P

I haven't been on in a while for reasons. I am just curious, has this helped with the lag? Less people should mean the game runs smoother now, no?
Not my quote but I love this saying

To be honest, i never had much lag issues, besides once in a while, but since a week or so i do have some lag peaks, mostly in my home, reaching 700-2k ms or in vMA which is mostly the place i fool around these days...

Destiny 2 beta pulled a lot of people off, for sure. But they're back and tricking in (till October 24th). I'll probably just log in to do dailies for 30m at that point, too. Love ESO, and will always come back, but it's healthy to diversify one's gaming.

Given both the Texas situation and the technical problems encountered by Australian players due to a couple of issues there it's likely that there's a significant number of NA server players currently unable to access the servers.

Summer has ended and schools have been starting up.

People were saying that the population was down this summer because it's summer and it will uptick in September.

I didn't think the population was going down, but the Steam numbers are pretty concerning if they continue to trend in that direction.

Server instability and lack of content development will do that to a game.

Steam numbers showed a significant increase in players over the same months last year. Granted, Steam represents a limited number of players, but the near double players year over year is usually considered a huge success in business terms.

So, August 2017 had about 2.5x more ESO players in steam than August 2016 on average and nearly triple at peak. Last 30 days have an increase in average number of players of 2.6%. Of course, Steam shows merely a slice of players in ESO, even for the PC/Mac platforms.

You know this thread is good, this will give AD the next excuse for why they lost Vivec again. "We didnt have enough people populations are dropping"

Thanks OP, we were betting in T.S. what they would come up with for the latest excuse I think you might have nailed it.

No no no!! Statistics are wrong and your eyes are lying to you! ESO is alive and kicking! Everybody like slow paced heavy attack l, everybody like skills not casting, everybody like increasing amount of bugs ruining combat. Everybody like 10 fps in trials. Everybody like rebalancing every 3 months taking you back in progress agaon and again.

Theres no particular reason to dislike ESO because its the best game out ever so please cut the crap and enjoy the game.

And if you want to leave please give me your stuff ahahahaha its such a funny joke I just can't stop repeating it because noone thinks its possible to sell ESO account for 150+ dollars.

Certainly feel the Texas situation is having an effect on Lag / Performance for PC NA. I'm in NZL and yesterday was almost unplayable - Ping 999+ and 15 - 20 seconds screen loads and Lag was unbelievable. We here in NZL use the Southern Cross Cable to WCUSA and from there to NA server in Texas - not sure how that route works

The answers for AD continual failure in Vivec are simple. We (AD), only have 2 or 3 guilds that are worth a *** at fighting in a campaign, those guilds can only be on a limited amount of time. Everyone else in AD are either in AP bridge farming guilds, AP farming or AP folder pugs, (depending on your view), or sewer dwellers farming (being farmed) for T-Stones.

could they be... shopping in Vivec? or Belkarth? I still see a ton of people around at pretty much any time of the day or night in certain areas.

It's OK! Don't worry! The ESO population is just growing more and more casual, just like ZOS wanted! Sure, people are logging in less, but casuals never quit. They will log back in again in a month, play for a few minutes, then log back out for a few months to repeat the cycle again!

This is how ESO has such an active consistent playerbase: we consider anyone who has ever logged in to be an active player. If they haven't logged in in the last year, that's just because they're casual players, and we want more people to be like them! We love the casuals! Anything that ZOS does to encourage players to log in less frequently is seen as an accomplishment by the upper management, I'm sure.

Maybe, but still, any major cities i travel is way less populated, i can now clearly see horses poop on the street and avoid them :P Last time i went to see Vivec for dreught, there was no one farming them anymore, not even any BoT train, that's a bad sign.... Dreugh will overpopulated and invade Tamriel :SSSSS Not even annoying duels going on in Mournhold's townsqaure.... that'S bad sign :P

been playing every day since launch (and every day i was able in beta).

took most of this past week off, other than doing a couple quick daily quests and keeping my guild store sales topped up.

felt like time for a break, and time to play a game where something predictable happens when i hit a given key.

i'll be back, but i'm in no hurry.

I normally am in Rivenspire around 6:50 am on Sundays to farm Necro gear.

There are usually about 10-14 players there, and a lot of them always show up there around that time. It's a perfect time to farm Magdelana (WB), and some others.

About 5-6 weeks ago, again on Sunday morning, it was about 15-20 minutes before I saw another player. Right before I left at 8 am, my level 40 magsorc helped a cp-level player to kill Magdelana, just the two of us, that was the only time we killed her in over an hour.

I saw about 8 players total. And it has been that way since 5-6 weeks ago. Very empty, and I couldn't figure out why because school was still out in most places in the US (don't know about other countries), so there should have been plenty of players.

    It's just you.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.
