Should all abilities work off of current stats or should some be Snapshots?
Snapshotting an ability would essentially encapsulate the damage at time of application. For a DoT this would mean that its damage would be consistent and only change if the afflicted enemy receives debuffs that would increase/decrease damage taken.
This means that DoTs and the like could be buffed to hit like a truck upon application. but requires the know how to have effects synergize well with it. Raising the Ceiling.
If Snapshotting abilities was removed entirely it would Raise the Floor and lower the Ceiling by having the damage output be less analogous (allowing for more mistakes when it comes to rotation) but lower the overall damage output possible.
(Reason for leaving out a "leave it as it is option" is because several abilities are only partial snapshots, meaning there are still several bugs/inconsistencies).
