It's untrue. Back at launch they would spawn on the full moon, and bloodfiends would spawn on the new moon. This meant both were available for roughly 3 hours each week. The problem was, this also meant there was a very clearly predictable schedule for players to predict when the infection spawns would appear.

The result was predictable. A couple guilds monopolized lycanthropy and vampirism on the server, and would hunt down and exterminate the infection spawns before any other players could get infected. Also, I could be mistaken, but back then it usually took a couple hits before you'd actually get infected, so they'd taunt the mobs, and then slaughter them. Turn around and charge 40k for the privilege of becoming a vampire or werewolf.

ZOS responded by changing the spawns to occur on random nights. There seems to be some bias towards the lunar phases, but the can pop up any night now.

One thing I find funny is that the nirnroot wine is obtained in cyrodiil, but cannot be used in cryodiil. I know momentos cannot be used there, but I still find it funny when the momento text says "Obtained by helping to make Nirnroot Wine in Cyrodiil" then followed with "You can't use this collectable in this zone" in red text (9:47 in video).
When you bring the red mountain ash back to the quest giver they say that everyone in cyrodiil will be drunk, but forgot to quietly add "except you, muahaha"

Yeah, I still don't get why they did that considering most mementos cant really be used to cheat / give you an advantage, except for maybe the bear trap (lol).

What exactly, does "become the new mother" really mean?

I have previously collected a 'young wasp' as a follower. Oh, maybe I just answered my own question...

I did know, but had actually completely forgotten. I think that's probably something that not everyone would be aware of though.

I wondered where those baby wasps came from.

If you pull up the map of tamriel and you click on the little boat picture above the summerset isle and to the left of stros m'kai it pulls up the eyevea map
