Purchasing Armor for Leveling

are there armor sets in game for leveling? if so are they purchased through vendors or crafted? sorry if this a dumb question, new player here trying to figure out the game

You want crafted sets with the training trait as it level you faster then killing stuff.
Ask in guilds if some could make you an training set for your level.
They are pretty cheap to free at least if you have the materials, around 50 is needed of the material you will use.

Armor sets are very helpful for leveling. The difference is immense. Join a guild and ask them to help craft some noob gears. Juliano (5pcs) + Seducer (3~4pcs) with training traits for magicka build, Hunding's Rage (5 pcs) + Night's Silence (3~4 pcs) for stamina build. 3~4 pieces on second sets suggested will depend on whether you will use dual wield/1h + shield or 2h weapons.

Ideally you want sets for lvl 6, 16, 26, 36 and 46. But that's a lot to ask from someone else because it's time consuming especially if you're adding glyphs to them.

For leveling yes. If you're already lvl 50 all divines on armors and infused on weapons.

@Megabear wow thanks for the reply! im doing a dps dk build right now but it seems most of the skills are magicka with the exception of dual wielding, sometimes i switch to 2h though. what would you suggest for those?

Really, you want Training on your gear until you reach CP160. I would even go so far as to say that there should be some training on gear until you reach the CP Cap.

The boost in XP from kills is significant all the way up to CP cap ...

Oh right, I forgot haha. I'm already well beyond CP160 so I typically only worry about hitting lvl 50. Thanks for catching that!

A lot of the skills can morph into Stamina versions. Again I'm not an expert and you'd need others' expertise, but what I do is try all skills and get it to rank 4 so I can see what each skill morphs into. I would play around with all skills, even skills that require magicka, so that you become absolutely familiar with the class and be able to determine for yourself what's best. Don't worry about "wasting" skill points because one, there are plenty available and two, you'll end up respeccing anyway sooner than later.
