I feel they need to update them to the current age only.

They're 0 gold because of the mass farming/selling people once did of them.
They're not ruby materials because on IC launch ZOS wanted to keep ruby materials rare (not the case any more).

This one recalls they were originally introduced so you could loot items around you in the world. Things on armour racks or on tables.

This was before they began to appear many times in otherwise delightful tomb urns and other such containers.

Perhaps when in a container they could be replaced with something of very low value but still useful? Style stones or some of the other low value but not worthless items that already appears in these containers? Something useful at least.

In the case of tomb urns perhaps add a variety of lootable bones? Leg bone, tail bone, skull etc? Perhaps even add insects of various kinds? Khajiit is thinking of things usually found in creepy tombs here yes. You put your paw into an urn and never quite know what you might pull out ...

Perhaps even occasionally spawn a ghost when looting tomb urns?

they give almost 0 inspiration gains. they literally have 0 use.

Actually I recall them giving something like 573 inspiration... now I'll have to go look it up.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I agree. Give zero gold loot at least a symbolic value, like one gold or so. Alsom let us sell lockpicks to merchants for one gold per piece.

This is what caused my fear for autoloot. I still need to check bags and drawers for recipes and such.

So once upon a time, some people were stealing this items and selling the material for few hour gold each. This back when cp 160 gear materials where hard to get.

Stolen items are worth full price and decon for normal amounts of inspiration and materials. The zero-value loot found in urns and baskets and stuff is the real issue anyway. I'm fine with open-world non-stolen loot being worth zero because I never intentionally pick that up anyway. But I have to go into urns and baskets to get those sweet sweet recipes and motifs, so having the chance at getting unstackable zero-value loot is just a major pain point right now.

What's odd is that some of my characters loot urns and 100% of the items have a value... some of my characters loot urns and the items are 100% ZERO in value.

Is it something on the character that makes it this way?? Same location. Same urns. Different results on different characters.

I agree with OP though - time to make them at least of value so we can sell them. It's not going to be worth farming them because they aren't really worth much - but at least its a little pocket change to pay for a wayshrine travel if you get stuck.

People used to exploit this and make lots of gold, hence why they are 0 gold.

I thought this was added to curb the bot trains. Junk fills their inventory. A mild irritant for normal players but a deal breaker for bots.

Not possible, they are in urns and baskets which contain actual useful items on the loot table as well.

Yes, so only take the items you want and ignore the ones you don't lol. I'm not saying this stuff should be in the loot tables, but I also don't see why its a big deal. Definitely shouldn't be ZoS' top priority right now.

So your suggestion is leave the crap for someone else to take. No. Take it and toss it out yourself.

No, containers that drop 0 value loot are instanced to you - you are not leaving it there for anyone else, they will get their own loot.

    Decon.

They most often decon to nothing, and everything that can decon into usable materials should at least have a "salvage value" like the real world. Not to mention, that white weapon and armor stuff is useful to ordinary people that would buy it from the vendors so should have a sell value.

They really are absolutely annoying to find on anything though. Trash loot is trash
HELL! Even trash loot like carapces and ectoplasm has a value to a vendor and we can't even use those items.

Why is ESO as backwards as older games in that regard?
We can't strip every corpse bare for their armor and weapons and anything of miniscule value, but the things we do pull off the corpse are the most worthless things?
This is like the quest I had in Stormhaven at that farm to find a dremore heart and scamp heart and it took a few kills to get them despite every dremora and scamp needing a heart to function.
    WTF?!

That would make sense if there weren't inventory mods available to everyone to sort it out. The bots have the same tools we have, and more.

It's just like the change to make people have to actually move at Dolmens. Before that change went live, I was already seeing bots set to move backward and forward to avoid the problem.
These are just stupid worthless ideas to try to stop a nearly unstoppable problem, like using a dart gun to stop a meteor...."poof>plink>TOAST!"

I think it's bs in a dungeon. I would, rather see less jars and, what not, then worthless junk. And all the freaking lock picks geeeeze. I have hundreds of picks the rate is way to high.

As stated several times in this very thread, not every platform of this game allows for mods. In addition, the platforms where it is very easy to start up a new account are the ones that do not offer those tools.

We're past 2 years that the game has been on console. Can PC folks please not suggest add-ons to fix all of the game's woes?
