Zero-Gold Loot Needs To Stop Please

Diamond Ring Of Reduce Inventory Space - 0

These kinds of items really need to be taken off the loot table permanently. They don't stack, they're annoying to deal with, and they're useless. At the very least they should be removed from the loot table for urns, baskets, etc., you can keep the open-world lootables the same since those you have to want to pick up to begin with. But all this trash loot that's showing up in my urns and baskets? PLEASE remove it, I don't care if you replace every entry in the table with Ash or some other vendor trash nonsense, at least that stuff stacks and can be sold for literally any value. My poor little bag just can't take any more of this rubbish.

EDIT : I'll say it here since it keeps being brought up. Addons are not a good solution to the problem because more than half of accounts are on console, not PC. I know we on PC love our glorious addons, but it's not an actual solution across all the platforms. Moreover, solving problems via addons is an implicit admission that we don't think there's a valid dev solution, which I think is sort of ridiculous since the devs have steadily brought all kinds of functionality into the base game that was previously only available through PC addons. This is just a design oversight, nothing more, and I'm pretty confident that if they saw it as enough of a problem they'd look into solving it.

Yep. Zero gold and a 99% chance of no usable mats found on deconstruction.

Its because of bots (as always). If the items wouldnt be of 0 value we would have bot trains picking them up and logging out and in 24/7 to vendor these items.

Picking urns and baskets? They already have useable things in them, which is why I'm getting my paws in them to begin with. It's the unuseable trash items I take issue with.

Yeah, these items need to at least have a 100% chance to drop mat stone.

Not possible, they are in urns and baskets which contain actual useful items on the loot table as well.

Yes, so only take the items you want and ignore the ones you don't lol. I'm not saying this stuff should be in the loot tables, but I also don't see why its a big deal. Definitely shouldn't be ZoS' top priority right now.

I like the idea that these random weapons are in the loot tables but they should have some value, even if its just one mat stone and one ore/cloth/leather/wood of w/e crafting level you are at (or one below). Hell even give them a value equivalent to random food.

Edit: It's all about immersion. Having these sitting out, stealable, they have value, you can decon or sell at fence. The ones sitting out in open zone that are 'free' kills the immersion when they have no value but the alchemy pot or food sitting next to them are worth 6 gold. It doesn't make any sense.

mfw I forget that you can turn autoloot off

    mefnirV.gif

For real though, it's more inconvenient to have that turned off than on, and the worthless items should be addressed either way. I wouldn't say it's a top priority, but I also don't imagine it would be a huge amount of effort to fix since it's just some loot tables.

That's actually not a thing. Zero-value loot does not show up in any shared nodes like treasure chests or safe boxes. We're talking about loot found in urns, crates, and baskets, which everyone can loot simultaneously without conflict.

There's no real logical reason to keep them around though. They weren't in the game at launch, they were added because players didn't have a way to acquire some gear (e.g., getting jewelry that you could enchant because most of the ones you got were locked and couldn't be re-enchanted), so you would go into a bank, guild hall, house, and rummage through things until you found something you wanted. With the justice system, the number of places to do that dropped substantially, ESPECIALLY in early zones when it was needed. When introduced, anyone could farm for white gear immediately from drawers and urns, and immediately was the only time it really made sense. Now, the only ones who really can use it are those that don't need to. So there's no need to keep them in there, they should be pulled from the loot table.

(I do remember one use for them we had. The items were 0 value as white, but regular price as green. So, for example, you bought a bunch of cheap Pitch, went to the Ebonheart shrine and picked up a bunch of staves from the nearby rack, left and came back and collected more, then hit the woodworking table and turned them all green and sold them. But that trick is moot now, because the presence of CP160 gear lowered the value so that it's not worth the hassle even if you had a big pile of 0 value staves and some pitch.)

Sorry, but thats not the case. ^^
Those 0 gold items found in containers are cp140 and they rarely give any mats when deconned. Sometimes they drop a material or trait stone, but to get even one unit of nightwood or shadowhide you'd have to deconstruct TONS of items, even with crarfting passive.
    They're 100% useless.

"Yes, so only take the items you want and ignore the ones you don't lol. "

Most people who manage their inventory well have no problem having auto-loot on, therefore the choice isn't there unless you want to turn off features which are otherwise incredibly useful.

Though I do share the sentiment of the first poster - if you genuinely want any remote chance of value from them, decon. I get materials from them alot more often than not - however - I do agree with the follow up, that most people aren't going to carry around that crap for a small chance at 1 mat.

The real solution (in current circumstances) is to trash them. These items aren't just found in urns - they're also used to decorate the world - and as sad as this is, there are some players out there who will use them - particularly when they reach a new material threshold but haven't collected enough to make their own gear or get drops yet.

Finally, if this game uses levelled lists like other ES games (it seems to) then there should be no problem whatsoever just flat out removing them from the CP 160+ leveled lists.

So I don't know where I stand on this! Both annoying, but at the same time - not that bad.
