Concerning the justice system

So, here's a question I think we've all asked ourselves before... Why are guards invincible? I can't even count how many times I've lost thousands of gold worth of contraband because those damn eagle-eyed guards catch me from across the room looting that lockbox or pickpocketing that noble or slitting some poor innocent's throat and then being completely unable to escape because the building was so small that there's simply not enough distance to put between us to get out a door without being hit.

And I know what you're saying... "Well, simple solution: why don't you just run to and from the nearby Thieves' Den AND empty out your inventory every time you get something of value?" --- well, why is there a two minute load screen every time entering one? By the time I get in and out of the den, I'd have gotten contraband worth 3x as much gold.

On top of that, if a player somehow finds a place where a guard is unable to reach the player but still maintain aggro, instead of dropping the player like a normal enemy, the guards continue to throw the occasional ranged attack which, since the longer guards are aggro'd the more damage their attacks will do, will eventually one shot you.

I'm willing to bet this topic has cropped up tons of times since the game first came out on the forums, but nothing has changed. We have the blade of woe now, capable of instantly killing any targetable non-hostile NPC, and yet it doesn't even give us the option to use it on guards.

Basically, what I'm saying is: make guards killable, please.

And so, Akatosh revealed himself to a young Gaben, and granted him purpose.
"Grant them Steam sales," he commanded.
And obey, he did.

No, the guard system is fine as it is and players should be able to skill their ways past guards.

Learn how to not get caught ... it's as simple as that.

    This.

There are good reasons why the guards are not killable, not least that it prevents parties of morons going around killing all the city guards for the fun of it, as well as the inevitable exploits of taking guards out of action and then having a free-for-all with the stealing and murdering generally. The guards are a central part of the Justice System so eliminating them would unbalance the whole thing. You just need to get better at not stealing in front of them, and yes there is a lot of sense in dropping off your contraband at regular intervals and especially as soon as you've picked up something special.

Allow us to enter/exit buildings while chased vy guards and have them follow us trough. My only problem with immortal guards is that there are places that are impossible to get away from.

I have zero problems with the guards, but I can see them being a problem for non nightblades.

Also, the blade of woe option would be too pay to win. At least for me and how I see it.

There is a risk to stealing and if you don't do it well or don't launder strategically, you should lose your stuff.

The guard system encourages being sneaky. Get caught doing shady business, and you have the guards to deal with until you lose your bounty. If the guards were mortal, there would be no challenge to stealing, picking pockets, or killing anyone because there would be no risk or consequences involved.

If we can kill guards, then we never will have guards in cities anymore. Everyone will just kill every guards, so no.

    1. Take an Invisibility potion to get away from guard aggro for 5 seconds (that is all it takes to be able to interact with doors again)

    2. Leave via front door, or just hide somewhere

    3. Launder/fence your stolen shinies

    4. Profit (literally)

This was originally a stopgap, which was turned into a permanent solution.

Originally, the guard immortality was supposed to be temporary, until the PvP component of the Justice system hit. When that was scrapped, the guards' immortality became the norm.

Basically, it's there to keep you from slaughtering your way through the zones, and just killing indiscriminately. At some level, the game does need to limit how disruptive you an be to the gameworld, given you're sharing it with other players.
And I know what you're saying... "Well, simple solution: why don't you just run to and from the nearby Thieves' Den AND empty out your inventory every time you get something of value?" --- well, why is there a two minute load screen every time entering one? It shouldn't be two minutes, but even then this is a bad answer. I mean, I believe you, and I know that's exactly why, because I engage in that behavior too. I just mean the game should have some incentive for carrying around a lot of stolen goods.

This could be something like how Tel Var stones work, so the more stolen stuff you have, the better the stolen stuff you find will be, or it could be that you perform your transactions at the fence in bulk, and get better rates for large hauls of stuff, over a handful of baubles.

All classes can easily avoid/elude the guards.

The justice system is unfinished and went the way of Jewel crafting and spell crafting.

Instead they started spamming all the DLC's and the Morrowind upgrade as a more profitable venture.
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.
