If anyone decides to one day switch from console to PC ESO will they be able to transfer account/link account so that one does not have to start entirely from scratch or is picking up on PC from console a completely fresh start experience?

Steam has inbuilt PS4 controller support now, but I prefer using Input Mapper - I have a screenshot and a discord profile, and I can swap between them instead of re-binding my home button every time. You can use DS4Windows if you prefer.
Like Sigtric said, there's an add-on to put PS4 icons in the game, and it's wonderful - and it even works on the load screen messages. Super-lightweight, I've never had a problem with it.
As for other tips... If you're near a keyboard & mouse, you can bind a key to switch between gamepad and k&m mode: I like playing most of the game in gamepad, but inventory and guild store pages are much easier to use in k&m and chat is all text-based. Most inventory and store addons don't work in gamepad mode, alas, but the combat addons work fine. I like using my PS4/home button as a screenshot or push to talk button, but you can bind it to bring up your combat metrics log, toggle ui on & off, whatever you want.

Any luck you remember the addon name? I searched in ESOUI but cannot find it :P
Hello allI play ESO on ps4 mainly but thinking to move on to pc version (half my FFXIV guild also play ESO and wanna play with them). The thing is that I am a console player and I can only play (and enjoy gaming) with a controller.
A several months ago I remember I tried to play ESO with my ps4 controller and there was a "Beta" support for gamepad users. I dont remember the details, but something didnt work well and I had to drop it and go back to ps4.
I wanna ask (Before I re-download 40+ GB)
1. is the gamepad support still in Beta?
2. were there any improvements on this?
3. If I buy the game on Steam will the ps4 controller work better with the steam support than use the game without steam and use DS4Windows?
4. Lastly, to those that play with ps4 controller, any tips/advice to make it work as better as I can?
Thanks in advance!
3. I don't believe Steam supports the PS4 controller. Either way, you wouldn't be able to use the PS4 controller with ESO without downloading a third party program. I'm not sure which ones are out there for the PS4 though. I use BetterDS3 for my PS3 controller. They may have a PS4 option. But you would have to do the button mapping yourself.

The only controller truly supported and working with computers without any extra software now is the Xbox One Controller, the bluetooth versions or the older ones with the wireless dongle.
I had my old Xbox 360 gamepad and a Logitech F310 stop working properly with this game and other games when Microsoft stopped XP support and encouraged Windows 10 upgrades. I upgraded and it still didn't work properly.
Thankfully, the Xbox One controller is a step up that works very well and is comfortable as a controller has ever been for me.

The 360 still works on Windows and I had multiple people in guild chat recommend the F310 to me as something they were using themselves, as of May. The 360 needs a receiver in order to be used wirelessly, yes, but that's been the case for as long as I can remember.
You can also use the DS4 wirelessly in Steam; bluetooth hates me, though, and I play literally inches from my tower, so I keep it wired.
There are plenty of comfortable computer chairs which are also better for your posture than lying on a couch

Your best solution would be Xpadder. Its a keyboard emulator, quite easy to figure out and you can map any key to any button the way it suits you.
