How does zenimax deal with in game harrasement?

This person was harrasing me on zone chat on x campaign, pretty much i sent him a msg on xbox live saying to [snip], i chose that method just to keep out the drama out of zone chat and xbox bans me for 2 weeks and the real offender is still playing harrasing others and got me banned aswell... never seen a game so toxic in my entire life. I just want to know how zenimax deals with this kind of situations...

actually xbox have a list of key phrases/words/acronyms that result in automatic com bans

and that word is on the list

people 'bait' one another into using those words in an xbox message so that they can report them & get them com banned
tbc i do not do this but i know of people who do

in answer to OP's actual question of what does the actual game do regarding in game harassment - very *** little.

Thanks for all of your replies! I love this comunity, it is sad that zenimax does very little when it comes to in game harrasment.

They care more about bad language than about harassment and abuse.
It's the same on these forums. If you use bad language (or say something racist), you can get suspended. If you're abusive and bully and harass people, they don't seem to care. Maybe some of the mods care, but not all.

But honestly people i never got banned in my life! and ever since i got this game is constant... and belive me when i tell ya i came from competitive gta where you can find a cesspool of trolls and griefers but non like this. But hell atleast Rockstar would actually ban people lol.

When someone bothers me I just put them on ignore list. That includes not only cursing, but spamming zone chat, begging for gold and nonsensical talk. Simply put them on ignore list and your problem will end there.

So he reported you, but you didn't report him... What do you expect? Apperantly the f word is a bannable offence for zenimax, so you being banned is justified. And how could zenimax ban the other guy when you didn't report him. I doubt that they listen to every conversation.

If anything you just had a poor reaction to his provocation, next time just report, ingore and go on with the game. You won't be worked up and the other guy is probably gonna be pissed because he didn't get the reaction he was looking for.

Edit: Ok, apparently my reading comprehension is bad. I thought zos banned him, when it was actually xbox. Thanks for calling me out @puffytheslayer. Nevertheless my point stays the same. Don't let people provoke you, just ignore/report them.

Or call someone Tiny and Adorable in a joke. 72 hour suspension incoming. Yeah I'm bitter. I think it all depends on how the mod is feeling and if they got lucky the night before.

If it helps to know, just know that cheat engine users--endless meteor spam back in the day--received temp ban, whereas players who interrupted an RP session received perma bans. Cussing may also result in perma bans lol

if someone was harrasing you in the game, you can use /report to report him or put him into your ignore list

To all the PC players who keep telling us xbox users to block/report please read

blocking somebody on xbox simply means that you can no longer hear them talk in game or in xbox party & any messages they send you on xbox never arrive. it also stops them viewing new screenshots/videos you post

muting someone has the exact same effect (except they can continue to follow your public posts)

in game both options prevent you from hearing someone in group/zone/guild chat it is supposed to stop you seeing
post in text chat but it is not working correctly and you are often still able to see things they post

additionally it is very easy to get someone temporarily banned through xbox please see my 1st post

reporting someone in game requires you to be stood right infront of the person, or needs you to type in the gamertag, there is no feature to report directly from an abusive whisper.
