Can we add diving please?

This has been said by others before but, I find it incredible unimmersive that i can't dive and look underwater

We have all these corals and many coastlines have been decorated but, I can't really go down and experience them

I think its a little update that could bring incredibly positive changes for all players

I know might create some issues for pvp but, you could just make it so no one can dive in Cyrodil. Or add more slaughterfish?

I really honestly hate swimming as a whole just because of the fact I can't

Its something that's just missing for me from this elder scrolls experience.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Great opportunity to add more things like furnishings, alchemy ingredients, water mobs etc. would also love to see a better swim animation for Argonians.

It just adds a whole other dimension to the game, right now swimming just feels very bland the way it is. Like something that's impeding your adventure. I feel like it should be a part of your adventure and that diving would fix that

Yeah I agree, I remember seeing some video after Skyrim was released where the game devs made loads of crazy ideas that wernt implemented into the game. They made some flooded dungeon and it looked epic, somthing like that in ESO with underwater puzzles would be amazing.

Yes! I would like to know why they didnt include diving in the first place. What is the point of swimming if you constantly have to keep your head above water lol. It would be cool if we had the option to dive below and farm materials, look for treasure on shipwrecks etc

that would be really awesome, and this would be great too:

Devs said some time earlier, that it is a problem for game engine in some way, but no idea why.

Agreed, theirs so much opportunity in it as a feature. Swimming currently feels so disconnected from your adventure. From dungeons, too new mats, new treasure map locations, water mounts, new viewpoints, underwater cave, delves or world bosses. There's a lot that diving could add.

To be fair because, we can't dive it doesn't even feel like i'm swimming. I usually feel trapped like I just stepped in mud more than anything.

I mean I could understand if it didn't come with all that stuff as a package but, they should at least add it as a feature so they have the opportunity to do so.

    That's honestly what I figured.

However, if there was a way to devote resources to diving to make it plausible I think its seriously something they should consider.

It probably can't be added for the same reason we will never have flying - the way the game is built simply doesn't support it.

Omg I didnt think of water mounts! that would be awesome! Its annoying that we dont have a feature that allows our current mounts to swim. We just get dismounted and then we SLOWLY have to make our way to land...unless your playing an argonian of course. I agree, its just like stepping into mud. It would be great to have a swimming skill line that allows us to increase our speed and stam when in water.

You cannot compare the single-player RPGs with an MMO. Skyrim also has functioning physics engine that we do not find in ESO, because implementing such a thing and keeping it running properly for thousands of players at once is practically impossible. Introducing diving (considering it poses the same technical difficulties as flying) would mean reworking a large part of ESOs base structure - which is an unnecessary risk I doubt they're willing to take.

Would be awesome, maybe even add a skillline for it, which levels with distance dove.
Add passives which increases you chars depth, divespeed, lung capacity for longer dives, underwater lootchance for algees or crabs or whatever.

maybe even new treasuremaps which are underwater

New alechmie ingedients for potions with underwater speed, increased lung capacity ect.

Maybe even a new set, like in skyrim the Mask that gave you underwater breathing ;)

You'd rather have one area that worked correctly, than 2 areas that were 50%?

I'm shocked, SHOCKED I say, at your inability to see 'the big picture'......

Ones who watched show "The Guild" know that underwater world is a whole new CHAPTER in The Game. So, obviously, in order to make it interesting devs have a lot of work to be done. But personally I endorse the idea. Also why horses and other mounts can't swim, huh?

It would be awesome if they make something like in GW2 with a great underwater system with fighting and everything. I doubt they do it though :/ too much effort, too much programming.

Lol yes Skyrim has some hilarious glitches, but still. ;) I'd love to dive underwater in ESO, I just don't see it happening any time soon. And if they do end up investing development capacity in reworking the engine, I'd much rather see them use that capacity to look at some serious problems with certain other, more key aspects, of the game.

Then there'd just be a nerf Argonian thread since people will just complain about their swimming speed and ability to breath underwater. To be fair, it might add some diversity to nerf threads since Sorcs are constantly in the firing range.

I agree it would be very difficult.

and yeah there's better things for ZOS to focus on right now

However, I feel like its something that we all want and that would improve all of our experiences if it was accomplished successfully.

Its an update that as long as it worked, would have minimal resistance and would add a whole other dimension to ESO for us explore.

Maybe they could do it without physics? I'm not sure but, if it is possible I defiantly think it should be added to the to do list.
