The thing about Wyrd is the cooldown. 15 seconds is pretty good for a powerful 5-effect removal. The problem I have with all purges in solo PvP, except maybe templar skill (I don't play templar), is that they don't selectively clear the most aggravating effects, such as Piercing Mark, Backlash, and Curse. This makes the Blue Betty more of a novelty and the generic Purge skill quite useless for it's high magicka and opportunity cost. I could count the instances on one hand where it as cleared Mark on the first attempt. While Wyrd clears 5 effects, and even if you single bar it, you would not really let that dictate your bar switching, would you? Since you'll always have some insignificant DOT, bleed or enchant effect on you, Wyrd is liable to have purged that and be on cooldown when you really need it. I think purges would be far more useful, if they limited themselves to or prioritised clearing the effects you really care about.

I don't think I would ever be able to heal without spellpower cure. It makes overheals useful and helps the entire group kill encounters faster.

Same here. Its just too good.

I can't seem to take Infallible off my DK. I know it isn't BiS, but the Flame Heavy attacks when I have that set and Molten up are just so strong.

I wear Vicious Ophidian on all of my Stamina builds. I went through a phase where we (a bunch of trials junkies I knew at the time) were farming VSO almost daily and have multiple sets of it.

All my other magicka builds are wearing something with Julianos ever since the Burning Spell Weave nerf.

I like that the crafted sets are viable now... I can properly select motifs and make exactly the pieces I want in the colors I want.
    Playing since beta...

PvE Stam- VO (that major expedition and resources... love it)

PvE Magic- Transmutation (2 lines of regen plus crit resist my magblade says yes please)
PvE Stam- Ravanger (I have used this on multiple stam toons and the proc is too reliable for me to trade it in)

    Bahrara's Curse:

(2 Items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health

(3 Items) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka

(4 Items) Take 40% less damage from traps

(4 Items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina

(5 Items) When you deal damage, you have a 25% chance to create desecrated ground for 5 seconds, which reduces the Movement Speed of enemies within by 70%, damages them for 1138 Magic Damage every 1 second and heals you for 100% of the damage done.

It even comes in all three armor types, it's just lovely for doing harder stuff solo.

I use Treasure Hunter on my magplar. Even though I never see it in any builds, I can't get away from it.

(2 items) Adds 933 Maximum Magicka
(3 items) Adds 664 Spell Critical
(4 items) Adds 664 Spell Critical
(5 items) Gain Major Prophecy at all times, increasing your Spell Critical rating by 2191. Adds 97 Spell Damage

But....as a Templar, why don't you just have Reflective Light in your rotation? It's a good upfront damage on three targets, has a burning DoT, slows the three targets by 40% and upon activation grants you Major Prophecy for 6 seconds?

Why would you assume that I DON'T have reflective light in my rotation? I do use it but it seems to me that major prophecy always is better than 6 seconds. Also, my monster set procs off of crit damage and with Treasure Hunter is up most of the time. I might add that I am not a numbers cruncher. I try different things and stick with what works for my playstyle. I, also, use Julianos.

When I was a noob just about all my characters ended up wearing Whitestrakes. I used to die a lot without it. It took me quite a while to learn to live without it. These days I just go with whatever fits the theme of the character - flame, damage, self-healing, stealth or whatever.

Shacklebreaker and Necropotence right now. Both, either or, are fantastic for magicka builds. Used to be Clever Alch. for me. I mainly PvP, but I'm sure these are a staple with many PvE'rs too.

I am still a noob as I just play 6 months a mag sorcerer. I tried necro, Julianos, spinners, burning spell weave and combined a few of them. Since yesterday I am obsessed by shackle breaker set and am testing the combo with full necropotence, the set which I can't get away.

    Magicka PvE: Julianos, BSW, Necro
    Stamina PvE: Hundings, TFS, VO

    Why?

Because ZOS doesn't believe in build diversity. The earlier patches of HotR look very promising, but then they decided at the 11th hour that build diversity was not worth pursuing.

By "diversity", do you mean literally every mag build running 5MS/5Juli with double infused staves? Boy oh boy, how fun

I can't get away from Necropotence for my Sorc DPS, or Armor Master for my Magicka Tanks.

I've been trying to get Pet Sorcs to work all the way back since launch, and I was SO excited to see Necropotence get buffed back in Shadows of the Hist, and now I can't put it down (like most people now I'm sure XD).

Armor Master to me is a MUST for Magicka Tanks, since it lets you use Harness Magicka for the 5 piece condition, and you get a BIG resist boost running that. This is the most fun I've had running vet dungeons as a tank in ages.

I've also run Briarheart for so long on my Stam Sorc, so it's nice to see the weapons finally drop in proper traits now.

As Healer, I own a set of Worm's Raiment armor because the Meta demands it, even though it feels useless/inferior almost every time I wear it outside of trials for two reasons:

    1. In a full stamina class party, the 4% reduced magicka cost for team is completely wasted and almost any other set would add more benefit.
    2. I've never once met another magicka user at endgame who had resource issues and didn't know how to heavy-attack. Their Magicka is completely fine without my Worm's buff.

The set is highly overrated. Before I get flamed by forum nerds whose panties just majorly twisted, I reiterate: my point of view is a non-Trials perspective.

P.S. Those blue floating balls are annoying.

I'm not a competitive player and have no interest in what I think people call "metas" or "BIS builds" - is that correct? Even the terminology is alien to me! I look at what I come across and if it fits the character then he/she wears it as and when I can loot it or craft it, and subject to getting the maximum benefit from it with a couple of complementary pieces. In most cases, all my characters nowadays seem to get started with Trainee and then graduate to Seducer or Night's Silence as they're easy to craft from early on and just get upgraded as they advance.

I liked the set of vampire's kiss I crafted. Still use it when trying to solo more difficult content on my stam character. But, one set I have always used on my tank is Plague Doctor. I always seem to use it along with what ever else I put on for specific content.

For me it's been Transmutation in PvP. I'm a MagTemp with dual swords and structured entropy slotted on 5/5/2 front bar and 5/4/2 lightning staff+ heals/buffs on back bar so I have a slight health difference between the two and cast Ritual on back then swap to front quickly so the HoT tick fills in the difference and activates the buff.
As much as I'd like to run another damage set alongside Clever Alchemist for more burst every time I take off Transmutation I feel super squishy even in full impen HA. Testing with a friend the Transmutation buff negates an extra 22% damage on critical hits over just wearing full impen armor.
I want to try out Impregnable since the fifth bonus puts you at the crit resist cap and that means I could switch my other armor pieces to Divine or Infused for extra damage; but I'm afraid losing the 250 magic recovery bonuses from Transmutation will be too much. Plus it's nice to be able to share the Transmutation buff with others when sieging.
