I'd remove Ice Staff Tanking as a concept. Tanking with a Destruction Staff is just...... *sigh*
If they want to add in a Magicka-based tanking for no one to use then implement that datamined "One Hand and Rune" skill line for it.

Can we have ice staff usable as a DPS option instead of Tanking? It just doesnt make sense. If you want a range taunt you have inner fire.

yeah I wish ice/fire/shock could all be considered for DPS like they are traditionally in the other TES games.
I wonder if it could be done by reworking them all to something like:
shock is the highest upfront damage and is only AOE if it chains to close nearby players, never ticks as a DOT
fire provides the second most damage but only does more than shock over time, mainly functions as DOTs
ice provides the least damage but provides utility like slows/stuns, a lot of AOE
the elemental destro abilities and class skill lines (sorc lightning, DK flame, warden ice) would have to be changed accordingly

I see an easy way to do this.
Tri Focus - Fully Charged Ice attacks now apply Minor Maim and gives the pony little shield still.
Ancient knowledge - Equipping a Frost staff increases the damage done by your frost abilities by 1/2%
NEW Passive skill added - Includes the Ice Staff tanking skills only, giving the option for people to go down the line of Ice Staff Tanking, so the Heavy attack taunt, and block cost and reduction, costs magika, with a reduction of 1/2% Frost damage to cancel out the Knowledge passive (prevents best of both world scenario) Keep Minor maim on Heavy Attacks. Allow people to Opt in to tank with a staff rather than have the element dictate the roll.
We have gained more and more skill points from the previous 2 DLC's so it's not an issue, I have more than I can even use.
What think? 2 skill points in nothing to come by, even for a master crafter without Morrowind.
