Level cap increases and gear quality increases are the illusion of progression in MMOs. Whenever level cap or gear strength goes up, so to does the monster strength.
I would rather for more skills and viable set effects. For example, I play stamDK and if I want to have decent DPS I am forced into the exact same 8 DoT damage abilities as every other stamDK. Would love to have some options for variety. Same with sets, there's so many useless sets; if those were made good then we would have a nice variety in how we play.

If they created a tier above Legendary, it would likely be called Apex. We already see it used in-game with the Crown Crates.

I need more imaginary arbitrary numbers on my computer screen ascending over time so that I can feel like I'm "progressing" forward.

    /sarcasm

It's all busy-work between content patches with no end goal. I'd rather they release more difficult content for endgame. Adding more rarities, raising armor/weapon numbers, and adding more health to enemies is the laziest form of progression dev work.

ZOS needs to stop catering to the newer casual players and allow the dedicates players to be as strong as they want to. If a player works hard for BiS gear in the right traits, they should be rewarded, not brought down closer to the average player. I agree, there needs to be vertical progression

No vertical progression after CP160 has nothing to do with 'new casual players", because as a matter of fact, "new casual players" still have to go through the vertical progression fron lvl 1 to CP160.

The reason there's no vertical progression after CP160 is because that system is outdated, the majority of players no longer enjoy that terrible no-fun grindfest. The new progression system used in Oblivion and Skyrim is far more superior, and people enjoy it, and when they ported that system to ESO, the playerbase on steam instantly tripled according to steamcharts, so people actually enjoy the "No vertical progression" system and One Tamriel actually saved the game.

Alot of posts in here is exactly why we don't get what OP is asking for, casual and stale across the board with no improvements to tier systems. No one says you have to run it. Put in place for those who do want it, the ceiling is too low.

I wouldn't grind two to four weeks every day in the same dungeon fighting RNG over and over to get the proper traits for my gear if I knew I had to do all that again every 6 months.

Also, we already know ZOS rarely EVER tweaks dungeon difficulty. I can find probably 100 threads complaining about how trivial and easy most dungeons are already.

Let's raise gear score though!!!! What's the point of raising gear score when there is barely content in the game currently challenging enough to necessitate that raise?

Please provide screen shots of your trials leader board scores. If you don't have any, you haven't reached the skill ceiling yet. So keep working at it.

Once you've topped all the leader boards, you can complain about the game getting stale.

Not interested in scores, achievements, etc. It has nothing to do with "skill",it's about freedom to use what you've earned without being held back because someone else hasn't caught up. I also don't need to post "street cred" to anyone to prove things. "The 100 threads complaining" means something, you don't get it though, but you mentioned it anyways.
