Anyone mention cost poisons on here? Didnt see it that has to go on the list of things breaking the game.. I feel l like to have a game that promotes skill isnt as good for sales as a game that lets everyone be a god in pvp. Personally i feel like i should be able to beat 5 not so great ( not awful ) players by outplaying them, and i can sometimes, but when certain builds are involved its tough.

Someone with cost poisons makes it hard. A nightblade that can ambush spam while dealing alot of damage with procs, and/or someone with destro ulti also makes it hard. Some situations are fine, like a perma block healer, because that is their job. But getting killed by a couple people that arent so good because one has 2 proc sets + cost poisons and the other has a destro ult/lotus fan reallyyyy sucks. Even just before one tamriel it was easier to play outnumbered.

And i dont expect to play against good or decent players and win alone, im talking people that dont know really what they're doing and win b/c of broken mechanics. Like i said easy play is what the legions of casuals want, but there is a balance that can be had. Casuals could play utility roles in group play or the strongest meta builds, but those meta builds dont have to be insanely overpowered setups that make 2 bad players good.

Some changes in this game are good, but destro ults, proc sets and cost poisons are a huge issue and pushing people into massive zergs that make pvp unplayable on console. Casual pvpers, slightly lower level players, and solo/small group players sick of getting destro ultid by a cancer group or trampled down by one of these dothraki hordes. I was a strictly solo player for 90% of my time in cyrodil but since morrowind i go 50/50 with a small group of around 6 people and solo play the other half of the time. I think some things defiantly need to change

I guess it all depends on how you play the game and what you look for in it. Personally, I have been playing since PC launch and continue to subscribe (on two accounts), don't use the crown shop, don't buy crown crates, adapt to the changes in as much as they ever affect me, and continue to play and enjoy the game just the same as when I started. The game was great for me when it started, and it's improved consistently ever since. However, I neither PvP nor do competitive PvE, and that doubtless accounts for a lot of my enjoyment with the way the game has developed as well as going some way to explaining why I've never had any performance issues with it. I'd like a proper trading system but apart from that I think they're doing a pretty decent job with the game. So for me at least, and I know I'm not alone, this thread is based on a false premise.

This is clearly a pvp topic lol. If you dont pvp then you cant possibly understand the issue.

Then it wants a PvP title and to be posted in the PvP forum. Given its present title and location it makes a general point which merits a general response.

New dev team took over. Different team, different philosophy.

    Precisely this.

After we were subjected to Wrobel, it all went downhill, and it will continue to do so.

Then it should be in the PVP forum. Not the general forum.

If it's in general, it's fair game. End of story. And I dont care how much you hate that fact.

Way back during development, someone had a bunch of ideas that sounded good on paper, but the reality of it was they didn't perform so well as game mechanics. That started the ball rolling downhill. More and more bad design decisions followed, leading to the fustercluck that is the game today.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

The direction is not the issue in ESO , it is the implementation . The original team had more experience under their belts . They were also more cautious back then of big sweeping changes . That came from experience with DAoC and already learning that pushing things to far can lead to disaster .

Bingo ^^^^ the current team lambert might make good app games but they are not AAA mmo material.

I don't know man. We've played the same period on the same server. What I remember from back then is,... PC transfers, tons and tons of OP players spanking noobs left and right. There wasn't even a cap on those players CP back then. Wrecking blow empowering itself, and Incap, and take flight.
Endless ball groups of MagSorc's. Templar jabs stunning players, over and over. Stats and gear won fights back then.

Proc sets are painful to deal with. The fact that they are the hardest hitting skills of most builds that run them still amazes me. But I've never seen a new player simply slot some gear and win with it. Ambush>Proc>Incap>Proc>killers blade is sure effective, but it's not exactly going win in group scenarios regardless. That squishy build is only good against solo, unsuspecting, players with defenses down.

But I do feel that from last patch to this, PvP is in a much better place. Last patch was the worst it's ever been. And the CP system was clearly to blame. But I can't say it's all doom and gloom. The game was never a tryhard haven of competitive balance, not even close. And improvements are happening.

Templar jabs never stunned, it had a knockback on the last jab. At least that was the way it was on console release up until they changed it to a snare. With the exception of high CP transfers cleaning house before the cap PvP used to be much more about player skill than stats and gear.

Yes, it was a "knockback" that interrupted your ability to cast abilities, to dodge roll, or simply move out of the way. It was very broken and buggy. Granted it wasn't a stun but that actually made it more buggy and broken.

    Champion system happen.

Forced away all the good players, left casuals or pvp players. Nobody creates build anymore, maybe just one or two persons. Resulting in all casuals copy these guys build, boom everyone doing the same.

Atleast if i died in 1.6 i died to a dmg build.

Now i just die to scrubs playing maximum cheese spamming ranged roots/hardcc with tankbuilds out of zergs.

ZOS has successfully managed to discourage any effort a non top5% player could make at being successful without zerging.

For me to restore some hope for the game they´d have to revert all the silly mobility changes that only ever empowered zerging and drove loads of players out of cyro and completely away from the game.
But no - they´re still not done. Better cap total bonus movementspeed at 70% the next go so mediumarmor builds don´t feel compelled to go for bowdodge anymore.

Every jab zos tries to take a niche builds and related mechanics (debateably ab)used always had a huge backfire against normal builds using the same mechanics because they were needed to do something else than mindnumbingly trot along 20 other people waiting to <insertrandomcc> <insertrandomultimate> the next poor soul that dares to peak out of a keep gate or leave sneak.

The snares and roots would be a good place to start, I agree. There are too many of them. And with the CCs bugging out regularly it's really annoying. Crippling Grasp is the next hot thing now. Crippling -> Flame Reach, rinse repeat, and you're not moving anywhere. Just as annoying as fossilize spam from a DK.

Whoever thought not being able to move was fun ...

    Hello everyone,

Recently we've had to remove quite a few posts for naming/shaming and bashing, both being against the Forum Rules. This kind of topic will understandably have a lot of different opinions, though we ask that you refrain from bashing as it is in no way constructive, same with shaming other fellow community members. Remember to stay constructive and to stay civil with one another to avoid any thread derailment or action on one's own account.

    Thank you for understanding.

Yes, of course, shut the people who speak the truth and hide yourself behind your awesome rules Cashmax.

Thank you for not respecting the truth.

Also don't forget to remove this post too, we don't want to bash right.
