Do not even get me started.
Because Consoles are managed by Microsoft and Sony, any content being pushed onto a game on those platforms have to go through them first before going live to players, while on PC ZOS can just push the updates whenever they want. So then the LOGICAL thing to do would be to delay the PC release to the same day updates would go live on Console, so EVERYONE will access the new content AT THE SAME TIME. Which is FAIR.
But no. PC players will tell you that's wrong. Say you're stupid. That you're selfish. That they're doing us a service by finding all the bugs for us. It's so much entitled bull.

ZOS uses PC to beta test content. Are you saying that your content is not buggy enough and you would like it earlier? Given the problems in the code that show up when PC tests things added to the problems in code specific to the console environment I would not think that you would be wanting it in less debugged form. The horror stories I have heard about completely non-functional console content seem bad enough already.
As for whether ZOS hates you... Are you an endgame PVE'r, PVP player, or casual. If the answer is not casual, probably as you care about things like balance and stability and probably don't care enough about pretty outfits in the crown store. As for PC vs Console, I actually think ZOS cares a lot more about console. PC content was pretty much put on hold for most of a year during which they bled PC players $15 a month to pay for trying to get Console working all while knowing full well they were going FTP at console launch. I think they actually prioritize console though they have a poor track record of getting things working well. I expect the console environment is just harder to work with.

so you want our content to be gimped.. to accomodate you. and you are calling us entitled and selfish?

From my understanding it's because Sony/Microsoft have to go authorise the content first.
It has nothing to do with ZOS hating console players, and they in fact give a lot of love to console players (many UI updates have been for consoles as PC already had add-ons which did the same or batter).
As I said before, the code for PC is not the same for Xbox and PS.
Because if it was the same, the two consoles wouldn't have been released a year after PC.
What did I just tell you all?But no. PC players will tell you that's wrong.

Yes but it's several issues with that one it takes a few days to get a patch authorized.Even when PC gets it first we still have the same bugs and even bugs you guys don't have I can list several if you like.Zos only patches consoles once every DLC and even then they dont fix everything. This and it make it practical to have pc players beta test it first since its easy to patch on pc using their own servers. From my understanding it's because Sony/Microsoft have to go authorise the content first.

If not they could have cut it to one week as I understand
Well yeah. They submit the patch to be approved at the same time they release it on PC, so they can't fix bugs which are then identified by PC players or they'd have to resubmit the patch and start the whole process over again.
From what I've heard from friends in the industry and articles on the subject both Sony and Microsoft say it takes them up to 2 weeks to certify a release. Even if it actually only takes a few days to do it they give themselves 2 weeks from the date a patch is submitted, so ZOS has to allow the same amount of time - if they assume it will take a few days but the certification team have a backlog and don't start checking it immediately ZOS could end up missing their deadline.
Edit: Here's one of the many articles that explain it, if you're curious: https://kotaku.com/5080083/so-how-long-do-sony-and-microsofts-approvals-processes-take
because we beta test it
I laughed out loudPlus, we cop all the bugs in patches in release, which take time to hotfix, so essentially you end up with bug free patches.. courtesy of us no?KhajiitLion wrote: »Does ZOS hates us console players or something?

You do realise right.. that on PC we did three closed beta tests before launch.. and we played for an entire year before you got it on console yes?

... AND we tested and reported Morrowind in closed beta for a couple of months prior to launch so you would get a seamless product. Me myself I would have spent a good part of 50+ hours on it reporting bugs, + mapping it out - and writing the code+mapping XY coordinates for all skyshards to which Ayantir used in the latest version of the Skyshards Addon.
What contribution did Consolers make again?
That's kinda what they did for Morrowind. It had the same release date across platforms. But PC still got it first because of what they decided to call 'Early Access'. I see ZOS's point though. If it's ready to be released, why hold on to it for two more weeks? They could hold on until certification is done so it can all be released together, but there's no real benefit to doing that.If ZOS changed the announcement dates on future content to be the same day for all platforms, then how would you know it could have been ready for you sooner? Do you really think the whole "Cause we beta test" excuse carries any weight? 100% of the time, ALL the bugs you guys report on the PC version never gets fixed within the weeks you have it and still gets thrown out to the Console players as well. So yeah, congrats on beta testing the buggy content that the rest of us still end up playing anyway. In that regard we're ALL beta testers until the next patch comes.
