It´s not a garbage set, you just don´t know how to utilize it :P

I know Masel92 had a build using this set a while back on his magickaDK (heavy attack build) that was quite decent actually. Still not sure how it works this and next patch but would be nice to see now that infused/torugs gets a buff.

It would be better in light. But there are many "smart loot" items in this game

I guess they assume if your build revolves around spamming light attacks you have no idea what you're doing.

    Because of undaunted builds.

imho we need more light stamina and medium magica sets in the game to help out undaunted builds.
currently we mostly have to rely on monster pieces to get undaunted mettle, but that does not work in all configurations.

most you would get is the 4% bonus.Plus if you were to do the the dumb thing and use 5 med(I hope not)you would lose a decent amount of passive bonuses as well. Not saying it's not needed, but perhaps there is a better way. ie. maybe the ability to change armor type using a given number mats.

Because the Itemization team decided when releasing the "Undaunted" sets that they'd make them non-standard types compared to most others and then give them bonuses no one wanted at the time.

Course, you can build some odd LA/HA builds with some of those weird sets.

It's still better than Noble Duelist's Silks (light armor)

(2 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(3 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(4 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(5 items) When you dodge an attack, your Light and Heavy Attacks deal an additional 1225 damage for 8 seconds.

Which I guess you could combine with Unweaver or Glorious Defender if you could somehow hide up in a tree and snipe people with ice light attacks or something equally improbable.

The itemization team badly needs to take an overall look at all sets.

It is simply a relic of a different time when there were soft caps and hybrids were viable.

An attempt at a hybrid set. Couldve been decent if the weighted trait still existed but i believe weighted was removed just after ZOS pumped this set up to be aquirable at max gear level. Wanted to use this or the opposite version on a dk/nb light attack build. Was still deciding on class then dropped it with weighted removal. By malacath i miss that trait

Actually, I think this was just after they had removed soft caps? This was them trying (and failing epicly) to keep hybrids as a possibility. They just ended up with two completely useless sets instead. At least now we don't get these things cluttering up our inventory every time we turn in a pledge.

Or... you could use 3 jewel pieces, a staff, and a Medium armour bit (the one you need to get Undaunted Mettle) along with a set of 5 Light armour plus whatever in Heavy.

When this came out using a Magicka NB in medium armor was kind of viable, because there were abilities that cost magicka, but were based on weapon damage. ZoS made all abilities that cost magicka use spell damage, but never updated this set.

There is also the Undaunted Unweaver set if you are interested that does come in light, but has Max Stamina instead of Max Magicka which is equally as silly.

In theory you could combine one with Infallible Aether for a heavy attack build...

Good offtank or non-trial tank build. Equip it on a tank on jewelry + weapon slots along with Plague Doctor. Hit magic skill every 10 seconds. Spam light attacks for stamina and contribute to significant amount of damage. Profit.

It felt like, with undaunted, they were aiming for hybrid builds. Not saying they succeeded, but between the new passives they added in the undaunted skill line (benefits for wearing a mix of armors) and the sets added, it seemed like that was some sort of goal.

What really sucks about the set is it is BOP. It used to be bind on equip thus sellable to the few hybrids that had a use for it.

I used the set for a while back in the 1.5 days for my Templar.

All I have to say is if you don't like the set, don't use it. There's plenty more out there that are better suited to "YOUR" playstyle. Last I checked, light and heavy attacks still work with staves.
