The sound on the bear does need toned down a bit. I startle easy, and my own bear has made me jump a few times, especially with the delay in materializing after teleporting.

ETA: Would also be nice if they could get him to stop freezing. One second, he's sniffing and huffing, the next he's frozen in a walk pose and doesn't move again unless I do.

"Such is the nature of evil. Out there in the vast ignorance of the world, it festers and spreads. A shadow that grows in the dark. A sleepless malice as black as the oncoming wall of night. So it ever was, so will it always be. In time all foul things come forth." -Thranduil

I know it's an old thread... But it was the thread I found when I googled "ESO Warden bear sound is loud".

I originally tried to play around with sound options, but that also takes away from other sound effects that aren't as dominant as that bear boom.

So I'm in agreeance with the OP that the bear sound effect doesn't have to be so loud.

Bye and have fun out there.

The issue with the Netch blocking the player's view / vision was brought up during beta ... my suggestion was to make Netch translucent (like 50% see-through). Personally, I think this particular issue with Netch was more of a 'quality of life' issue, and as such, was given a low priority (as opposed to broken / semi-broken mechanics which obviously were given a higher priority) ... at least at that time.

Not as bad as the twilight matriarch though....

    Playing a non-warden character:

The bear sound is good the first few times you hear it but, like most sound effects, gets old quickly through overuse.

I find it is just noise these days and totally irrelevant for anyone but the Warden involved.

When I am in stealth mode I often listen for NPC footsteps to know whether one is approaching and I will be seen. Having other sound effects dominate just breaks immersion for me.

    Just my opinion.

This has got to be the single most annoying sound in the game, more annoying that the 1000th rendition of "Red Diamonds" or non-stop banker about state of the bank.

I do play a warden but I play without the stupid bear. The sword of Dawn is a lot more effective and a lot quieter too. But that does not halp me block other people's annoying bears. I can appreciate that some people are easily impressed and have opinions that are as strong as those who are not. Some suggest to turn the volume down without considering the other aspects of the auditory effects of the game, such as footsteps or other relevant content that is drowned in that stupid sound that is designed to impress/annoy rather than help the player.

I believe that a little effort from the developers to address this issue will be greatly appreciated. A dedicated control, anything. I'd even pay extra to eliminate that annoying creature sound!
