How to make ESO a potentially better game

Yes, this game storyline is terrible

I never played WoW, but I can tell you, I know about Wrath of the Lich King WoW expansion.
The WoW marketing team did a fantastic job I must say.

I think current storyline the #1 spot goes to Guild Wars 2, no marketing or advertising is needed, the game explains and hypes everything perfectly. It's like watching Game of Thrones... Cannot wait for the next Living Story to come out!

    btw, sidenote
This game has a huge following on social media, but they never do anything with it. Such shame. This game marketing team is a joke.
Most games, lack the huge following but have great content... This game, complete opposite. Has nothing to brag about, it has an okay core, but when it comes to bragging rights... Not a damn thing. Huge followerbase, terrible content to brag about.

    - No. Just no. There is no reason for this to happen. Lol. Golden Motifs are rare drops and should remain rare.

    • completed achievements should be account wide completed (who wants to do already completed achievements all over again on another char? no one, that's who! [and after all i completed it, not the pixels that represent my character!])

I want to, for one, and there are many others whenever this comes up who also want to play the game fully with alts and not simply fast-track them for PvP or endgame purposes, including many who like me (although not a role-player in any major sense) have different approaches with different characters so do not, for example, want a law-abiding character saddled with Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood achievements just because a different character on the account earned them.

You already answered on another thread like that, and I ask: Why?

What's the point in not wanting account-wide achievements just because one of your toons is law-abiding? You got the "kill 50 people" achievement and that's bad? You already have mementos and costumes from that, I don't understand what's so upsetting.

I want all my characters to earn their own achievements separately, according to the way I play them, it's why I play multiple characters - to play through the game with them in different ways, not having everything handed to them regardless just because my first character did it all. I have no interest in taking shortcuts to the so-called endgame, I play for the journey rather than the destination.

We clearly play the game very differently, and there's nothing wrong with that. You play your "toons" as if they are simply an extension of yourself and feel it's you not them doing everything in the game. I play my "characters" as if they are separate individuals unfolding their own story. Perhaps your gaming background is in other types of game on console where your style is more common compared to my gaming background in role-playing games on PC - single player RPGs, MUDs and MMORPGs where everything is about the character not the player.

Only if he sufffers from them, which he probably doesn't as I suspect he plays on the PC EU server. It might well be at the top of your list, but not necessarily everyone else's.

"why" you ask? because Molag Bal is forgotten already as soon as you port back to the harborage. the story is flat and boring and when ppl think ESO they don't think "oh yeah, that bada** Molag Bal". also marketing.

I dunno. It is pretty typical for the villain in a TES game to be forgettable. I mean, we know who they are, so not forgettable in that sense, but definitely less important than the role the character plays.

    • racial backgrounds instead of alliance backgrounds at the character select sceen
    • the character select thingies in the character selection screen should be moveable/sortable
    • the number of research projects currently running for each craft should show in the character select thingies for each character
    • the reseach times should show in the character window (or at least the number of research projects currently running for each craft)
    • client sided deactivation of vanity pets (sorry, but i just don't care for your 200px of cutesy-poo)
    • visually enhanced dead group members on the floor (even though there is some kind of icon for dead team mates it's way to often that one can not find the actual body on the floor to interact with. maybe give them a green border, like the red border enemies have, the moment they fall...)
    • visually enhanced tanks in dungeon and trial groups (just something i would find helpful)

I really don't care about the background screen on character select. Never paid it much attention, to be honest. However, we do need to be able to sort the characters. We do need Character page status stuff for research, like the horse training.

I'm not really interested in spending time on client side hiding of content. I know people want a variety of things hidden, but my feeling is to just do your best to ignore it. Maybe, if they have a developer that is sitting around watching Netflix because there isn't enough work, then yeah. I am not opposed to the filter, but I don't think it rises high enough over other things.

Or they did it right. High Elves have been the go-to race for magicka for over a decade. This is one place where that needs to remain the same. They should have a racial disadvantage where they are weak against magic attacks, though.
    Jerkling wrote: »

Personally, I think they would have been better off not having classes at all. That said, they need to have one more class. I know a lot of people want a Necromancer, but I really want more of a stamina (physical) class to help counter all of the magic classes that they have.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES
    • 2nd tier morphs
    • there should be more abilities for the vampire skill line
    • why is there several damage shields that scale either with health or with magicka but not a single one scaling with stamina?

Vampires are terribly watered down in this game. The need stronger negatives to balance stronger positives. Vampires should be a form of more advanced play, with more things the player needs to be aware of.

As for more morphs, it is already too hard to keep track of what is what. Adding another tier would make them too muck like a maze.

    • players shouldn't be able to deal desease damage, neither with an ability nor with a glyph (well, maybe transformed werewolfs but other than that it simply makes no sense)
    • killing npc's with the Blade of Woe shouldn't proc procs
    • npc's should not be able to target and/or use range abilites on players through walls/around corners (players can't target or shoot through walls so why can npc's?)
    • snare/stun abilities should be removed from common trash mobs in the open world/delves/public dungeons and such (high level players hunting skyshards, lorebooks, achievements or who are simply trying to get quests over with are not interested in fighting trash on the way and slowing them down only serves to annoy and frustrate them, since the trash is for the most part no threat and most people will just keep running anyways, making these mobs mere tar pits)
    • leashing range/(de-)aggression timer for mobs should be shortened (if players are not interested in fighting mobs then they are just not interested in fighting mobs and there is no point in having them follow the player for 3km)
    • dolmen bosses(/mobs) strenght should scale much more with the number of players in the event area (right now it's like the bosses just plummet into a giant cooking pot of aoe spammage when there is like 40 ppl farming dolmens, makinging them die instantly)
    • please, please, please remove all interactable objects at guild traders market stands and make them part of the scene, just like in Outlaws Refuges

I have no problem with disease damage.

They made a mistake with the poison damage by making DKs use it, though. Killed the DK class for me. Poison tends towards evil, and this is the main reason I don't play my vomit DK.

I will agree that mob leashing needs to be addressed, but the main problem is that the mob cannot catch the player. If anything, for those mobs that can do it, there needs to be some manner of strong snare that will stop the player. For those that cannot snare, don't have them chase very far at all. The former can stop the player and commence attack, while the latter stick around their "x" on the floor for other players that are coming up behind and might want to kill them.

Yes, dolmen mobs need to do a better job of scaling, both in strength and numbers.

In addition to the guild trader, get rid of the trash that can be accidentally stolen between the player and the NPC in all banks and shops, too.

No. I have separate characters for reasons, and I want to be able to do all the achievements, quests, leveling, and earning of rewards on each character.

    my TWO cents!

    1. doors that cannot be opened = dumb.

    2. NPCs that can do what we cant do = 7 negates, quadruple CCs = stupid.

    3. any game that allows 1 human player to surrounded by 10 human players and that player survive for longer than 1 second, while just blocking, taking potions, casting abilities while blocking, = is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD.

I am a roleplayer myself, don't assume that my background is "lolpressbuttons". What I don't understand is why *SOME* achievement, the really tedious/hard/related-to-events ones shouldn't be account-wide.
When you are playing the story of your toon, character, avatar, call it however you want, there is no real difference, what do achievements ACTUALLY affect?
When you will be roleplaying, either alone or with someone else, I don't think either of you will look at the achievement tab.
When you are going questing, I'm sure that you've come across quests that do not have the ending that your character wanted. What are you going to do then, leaving the quest there? Well that's a waste isn't it? Your character would definitely do something about that, right?
I don't need achievements to make my char who he is. My first character was a Nord that used to be a master-at-arms before retiring, but when I started the game I had 0 point in every skill and no achievements. Did that affect me? Not in the slightest.

What you want to be interested is barely just your journal, if you want to RP. Achievements is a tab directed to the player about what the char did in-game, meaning that is a reflection of your actions while controlling him. The character is not aware of its existance in any way or form. You are just putting fences between yourself and the fun of roleplaying if you do that.

I agree that dead players are really hard to find sometimes. The rez toggle also seems fickle at times.

The ability to target/highlight a group member would be an awesome feature. A dungeon group could highlight a tank or healer, and a pvp group could do the same. It would improve organized group play
