Oblivion vs Fire enchant

As title says pretty much.

Simply put I have both enchants for my destro Magblade for PvP and can't decide which will be the one to go for based on what changes are being made on PTR.

Any opinions? Thanks!

Id go with Oblivion, it is strong at the moment. And infused will make it very strong at next update

Unless ZOS nerf the oblivion enchant (which they should) I´d go with obilvion enchants.

they are buffing the burning status effect. although I do not know by how much. if it ticks for noticeable damage it might be better.

sucks that they nerf Torugs Pact. it was a situational and mostly bad set before, now it gets worse cause they cannot (or want to) balance oblivion enchant.
max level: mDK, stamBlade, stamSorc, magPlar, mDen, stamDen, magBlade, stamCro
    ESO+
    # of mules: 4 (FULL)
    maxed bank: FULL -_-
Stop the grind! Get rid of stupid events and daily-quest gallore. Get rid of "have a chance of 1 in a million to get a piece of 1 in 30 to get a stupid motif or pet... wtf..."
And at this point just remove all classes and have everyone choose their set of skills. then balance accordingly to skills always used vs. skills never used.

Hard to say without knowing more about your setup. Infused weapons? Crit chance?

The change to torugs pact did very very little. And for the 10s CD enchants it was a buff.

Torugs + charged with a flame glyph on a dunmer DK seems legit
Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

With a lot of dots i prefer Fire or a Lightningenchant for statuseffectproccs. When the Fire- and lightningeffect procc you deal 18% more damage (when you put 75points in traumaturge). This with much dots deal more damage then oblivion. Oblivion stranght is full damage to all targets, so you should stack it to create a good build! ;)

Cp won't matter in BGs and Sotha Sil. So don't think the fire or lighting works as well there. But as you said it probably works really well in Vivec and Shor.

Just to clarify my staff is Infused and I'll mostly be running non cp. Based on all the feedback I've gotten I decided to go Oblivion, even though it's getting a 6% reduction I still think it will hit harder for non cp.

    Thanks for your thoughts folks!

For non cp definitely go oblivion. I'm pretty sure flame is reduced by battle spirit, and it's reduced by resistances. No way you'll deal more damage with it. Unless you really want the burning status effect.

While Oblivion will get nerfed by 6% Infused will get buffed by 10% from 20% to 30%, its still a net gain for you. Current base value of gold CP 160 Oblivion enchant is 2242.

    Live: 2242*1.2=2690.4
    HotR: 2242*0.94*1.3=2739.724

And as said in non CP fire doesn't have any CP to buff it and is as well reduced by battle spirit, not obviously battle spirit happens in CP PvP too but the CP itself can counteract it a bit but that is not possible in non CP.

I thought about using fire enchant infused on my mdk. Between infused, cp, and engulfing you could push it over 4k damage. Oblivion is still better. I think oblivion should be lowered to make others more competitive.

Not sure why you all seem to think fire enchant is more powerful on cp campaign. While it is buffed by offensive cp, it is also reduced by cp defensive stars. Basically making it equally good on both. Except against the few no cp scrubs that went there by mistake
