Lantern of Anguish Nerfed?

The lantern of anguish used to kick out just a red glow, then it was updated in a patch a while back to have flames and give out much more light, but following this week's patch alas my lanterns have reverted to their previous weak red glow (yes, I checked they are on). They were far cooler with the flames and gave off tons more eerie light. Was this a mistake?

arpadsweb16_ESO✭✭✭It was unintended, and a lot of people were complaining about the huge ass fire they created, people bought the lanterns of anguish to obtain a creepy, red aura. If you want ordinary fire, there's a ton of items which already provide that already.4 -

They reverted them but made a copy of the "flaming" version - Daedric chandelier, spiked - which they sold at the luxury vendor weekend just gone.1 -

lasertooth✭✭✭✭✭I bought those lanterns when they were bright. I never knew they were supposed to be dim. I bought one to test it, I placed it in my house and liked it so I bought 5 more. They are 5k each, so I spent $30k total. Now they are useless to me.
This company is so unorganized. They could've fixed the lantern in a way where there was a 3 way toggle (bright flame---dim light---off) instead of on--off, but they didn't.
They could've fixed it so we were able to sell these items back to the vendor full price. But they didn't. Now I'm out 30k gold.
