Have you ever met a complete stranger from ESO in real life?

I have met a handful of players from SWG. It wasn't difficult to arrange since we tend to enjoy conventions, namely DragonCon and Star Wars Celebration. All were wonderful and close to how I imagined them.

I still keep in touch with 3. They know me and my family. I know theirs. One of my best game friends is expecting her second youngling any day now. We were friends (and had met) before her first little Jedi.

I understand how people that have not immersed themselves in an MMO find meeting, "Strangers" odd and possibly dangerous. That has not been my experience.

I would love to meet some of my Guild. We have played together through numerous games for 12 years. They are real friends. Two of my close guildmates helped me through one of the most difficult time in my life. They reached out, kept tabs, encouraged me when friends I physically get together with became distant.

Actually, I did know of a guy that was creepy as hell. He was in my guild and wanted to meet this girl in same guild in real life. The girl confided in me and complained about him. I quit the guild soon after (not because of them, but out of boredom) but later found out he ended up meeting and dating a different girl from the guild. I was very disappointed because the guy was I think dangerous.

Meeting them again next week. 3rd year, 4th time. Everyone thought im [snip] stupid and wont make it back alive....was the best time of my life. We havent met ingame (any game for that matter) in ages but skype regularly and keep meeting up

Edit: Reading the other comments, at the point when we met up, it wasnt really "complete strangers", we did raid together alot and had talked alot on voicecoms. Strangers just in terms of "we never had met in irl before".

It was quite late in night and I was about to log off. I'm talking about a time way back in 2015, probably march. And as I was about to log off, I saw Someone in zone (rawlkha) chat asking for help about a delve boss. And o couldn't resist helping. And that's how our story started.
Me and my girlfriend, we met through ESO. She is from Germany and I'm from India. The time we met I was working/ living in Dubai and that is where we had our 1st date (in real life) after 2-3 months of Eso dating

. It's been 2 years since then both of us visiting each other every couple of months at our places and sometimes taking vacations to other country.
And if all goes well, by end of this month we'll hopefully get married. Won't be an extravagant one but will do the Job and maybe just maybe we'll become 3 even before we are officially tied up. Fingered crossed.

Do you mean have we met people we play ESO with IRL? In that case, yes, I have met several of my guildies.

Do you mean have we met someone IRL who plays ESO (even if we've never met them in game)? In that case, also yes. I was at a dinner for one of the coordinators for a dog rescue I help with and one of the other fosters plays ESO as well. We could have started speaking Greek at the table and the other fosters would have been less confused.

If you mean made friends with strangers that I've met in game and then met up in real life, then yes.

If you mean just happened to meet people IRL that also played the game, then also yes

Not ESO, but I've met my girlfriend in WoW. Traveled half across the world for her. (EU to NA) Best decision of my life. Been together for 4 years now. It was long and very difficult journey for me.

Oh dude this is perfect. I'm on holiday around Europe and was talking to one of the dudes I'm traveling with about ESO. I did mention my own characters, especially Stick Princess, for some odd reason I don't remember. And just when I said the name, some other dude quickly turned around and just stared at me for a good 30 seconds before turning back to his mate. They started talking (in Italian and I don't speak that) and I heard them mention my name quite a few times.

This happened in Bologna, Italy btw. So to those two dudes at that cafe; yes, that pale slug was me
