Soultrap, lets give it combat usefulness, lets buff its damage :)

with so many spells, attacks, weapons etc i always feel alittle sad that the soultrap skill is almost never used.
i for one would like to see its damage tripled maybe even quadrupled so that it has more use besides being filler for leveling :)

    Agreed, that and Soul Assault need a buff. Or just boost the set that boosts traps damage

    Wut? SA already melts people in MA and strips 17k stam if you block it. Tooltip get's as high as 100K if you take a look in the big SA thread.

    Soul Trap could indeed need a buff. Don't know if the base dmg needs a buff since I'd like to see it usefull for both resources. Maybe add utility.

    Splitting Trap as an weak 3 target DoT + CC or Debuff.
    Consuming Trap as singe target that is similar to Siphoner CP. Reduce the enemies regenerations of all 3 resources by 5% for 8 seconds and add that regen to your own while active.

    Or something like along this. Pure DoT seems so bland for a soul ability.

    Soul Trap really needs a buff...its useless, with the Soul Lock Passive, you dont even need to use it

    Once I can unlock the Soul Lock Passive, I don't even spend any other points the entire line.

    It would be great if Soul Trap was buffed to be useful. Although The visuals would need to be reworked some as well, right now they don't look very good.

    Soul Trap is a utility skill and should remain that way. Buff up the skill and ZOS will also 'buff up" the resource cost. When people complain it's OP it will probably get nerfed into the ground making it less than it is now for twice the cost.

    Leave it as a utility skill to for those who want to use it to fill empty soul gems (way cheaper than buying filled soul gems) at a relatively reasonable resource cost (which means you can spam it "AOE" style in the middle of a bunch of trash mobs to fill a couple of stacks of empty soul gems really fast) .

    Besides, Soul Trap can be 'buffed' on an individual basis with a set of Oblivion's Foe (craftable armor)

    Soul assault should be buffed by at least 300% it's current value and harm magicka as well as stamina if blocked.

    But it doesn't have any useful utility. There is no reason to fill your own soul gems, you get so many from bosses.

    even with +100% damage from oblivion's foe its still probably the weakest dot in the game, and in order to get that buff, you need to give up a full armor set for one that is completely terrible.

    Using a whole 5p set with questionable set boni for getting a 700 DoT/sec for one skill is.... not optimal.

    If you only use that skill to fill your soul gems it shouldn't matter if they ask for 2.2-2.6k magicka or 3k.

    I've never seen someone use that skill in PvP.

    While we're add it, I read in another thread that the Shoul Shatter passive only procs when you have an active soul magick skill slotted. Is that true?

    I'm actually in shock that someone would suggest soul assault needs a buff. Its one of the strongest raw damaging ults, while simultaneously giving u cc immunity and a built in counter to nbs, all at a very low cost. Also, fairly certain the set that boosts soul trap skills doesn't boost the ult... if it does i've been missing out on a ridiculously op build opportunity.

    Soul trap is meant for early game purposes of filling those empty soul gems u get from delve bosses and the like. Don't think it has or will ever have a true combat purpose as that isn't the intention.

    Totally agree, it doesn't have any utility since a lot of time because Soul Lock and bosses dropping them filled, also no more Soul Gem Tiers either...best bet its that the totally of the soul magic tree should be reworked
