I have seen a few threads here in which folks have indicated that Warden Bear is as good as a tank as Sorc's Clanfear.

Based on my experience with my ex-toon (the "garbage"-den) with my current Mag Sorc, this is what I feel when comparing the tanking aspect (taunt,holding aggro etc) of these two.

However the Bear is a DPS skill/pet, while the Clanfear is a Tank/DPS skill/pet.
Better question would be: Which pet performs it's role better?
- Bear at pure DPS
- Clanfear at tanking, with some dpso_O4 -

✭✭✭✭✭I agree...Clanfear is a much better tank when compared to Bear.Yeah, the Clannfear is much better-programmed at holding aggro away from my position and keeping it there so I can focus my attacks and aoe effectively.
I have to be standing in the bear for the bear to function usefully. It works as an execute sometimes but usually when I don't actually need an execute. And I can appreciate teamwork, but I shouldn't have to wear the team.signing off0 -

✭✭✭✭The bear is only a dps pet that also serves as the class execute. The bear is not a tank.
To make it more useful, I wounder how it would be if it could use ultimate that is built up more like Overload does. This way you could spam the execute a few times and deplete the pool you have. Instead of just one abysmal shot that is has now.1 -

The clan fear is much better because it's not a ultimate. If the bear wasn't an ultimate, maybe it would be worth it.0 -
